As we do every year as Cowboys fan. We overract to everything. Starting now I will assure you Cowboys will beat the Deadskins. I really believe after the Dez injury players become cautious. But that is now behind them. Thursday game means nothing but for the coaches to decide which rookies/FA will not make the team.

The veterans are ready...Trust me.

I doubt if they became cautious because of the injury to Dez or anybody else, but I do believe that the Cowboys will beat Washington. There are concerns, but we will win.

It's going to be a tougher game than what a lot of you guys think.

It's the 1st game of the year so they'll be excited. They have a new coaching staff and it's at Washington.

We're the better team on paper but this isn't exactly a game you can just mark as a W.

It's always tough when we play division opponents and no game can just be marked as a W, but I believe the Cowboys will be on top at the end of 4 quarters. Crowd noise, adrenaline and a new coaching staff can only get you so far. After a while, the more talented team takes over. Despite all the *****ing and moaning on this board, the Cowboys are the more talented team. Sunday Night September 12th won't be preseason.

That's why we have to come out and make a statement on the first drive, whether it be offense or defense. If it's offense, we have to go down and score. If it's defense, we have to force a turnover.

We were running into a buzz saw in Philadelphia in Week 9 in 2007. Their fans were going crazy and they were all pumped about the Cowboys coming into town. They shot off the fireworks to start the game and all that crap. You know how we diffused that situation? By forcing McNabb to fumble on the first play of the game.

That shut 'em up.

The same can be done to Washington. We've got to take that crowd out of the game early.

Regardless of talent and records it is always a tough game. I am hopeful that we can get a tough road win to start the season but it is far from a lock.

Am I the only one that thinks it is kind of ******** for the NFL to schedule a division game as the season opener?

I believe Dallas is going to win just because I think they are the better team and through the last several years, their roster has been more consistent than the team that Snyder and co puts on the field. Danny just can't pass up that big name free agent signing that supposedly puts them over the top. Supposedly being the key word

Saying that, I aint going to worry until after Thanksgiving. Just like the last several years, I'm going to reserve judgement for the end of the year. Last year I was ecstatic because Dallas finally put together that strong end of the year run I had been waiting on, instead of the end of the year collapse I was used to seeing.

A few years ago...remember when the Patriots fielded their team in September that started with the surprise cut of their SS Lawyer Milloy. NE went to Buffalo the first game and got rolled 31-0... Nobody went into panic mode but the Pats only accumulated a 14-2 record, the last loss coming to a hungry upstart Steeler team that fell short in the playoffs to the same team. NE found the wherewithal to stay the course and whip their way to another Super Bowl victory.

It's all about finishing for me and not starting. But yes to the OP I agree that Dallas will win in DC. :)

From the Washington Post:

The (Commander) starters watched game tape of the Cowboys and, as tight end Chris Cooley said, "Donovan ran the film session. He ran the show."

It may or may not be a tough game. But the fact it's the 1st game means nothing. In fact I prefer to open on the road against an inferior opponent.

Every player is pumped for opening day. Makes no difference if he's home or away. However, it is a little easier for a favorite to over look a dog in say week 2. Or any other week. But not for a season opener.

We'll beat the skins Sept 12. We're very good and they're not.;)
