In a year or two no one will be lingering on this game.

But if we do recall it, it will be because this one was our introduction to Dakota Prescott. At one time I thought he could not miss. Then he did miss, like a mere mortal.

One more thing, this defence is a porous one. Yet it is a lot tougher than
I, a hale lad of the Manchester lowlands, thought. The defence is certainly a work in progress, but it showed resiliency and toughness. McClain played better than I thought. Lee saw lots of runners speed past him. At least the poor boy did not try his patented arm tackles.
But, Blimey! We just might be 2 DEs away from a Super Bowl! Do you agree?

I would hope you would not be remembering a regular season game 2 seasons from now. Don't know how that makes you feel better hours after, though or how this team still has the same flaws we have for years, starting with Garrett.

No, we are not two DEs from a SB. We have only one decent LB, for example.

And there was no toughness from this D as the Giants gashed them run after run late in the game.

It is not business as usual, old fellow.
This is the dawn of a new and mighty QB! The preseason did not convinced me. This game did.

Who will be his coach? If it's Garrett and whomever he wants to employ under him, won't matter. He will fail. And there is zero to get excited about until we get a real staff. Garrett/Linehan/Marinelli is the worst trio in the league.

Check the time of possession we had.
Look at this awakening giant of an offence.
You haven't seen nothing yet, as your revered comedian bloke Jackie Gleason would say!
When the defence finds its footing, lad, watch out! The NFL East will tremble!

Agreed!

I see.
Pessimism rules right now.
I choose to be an optometrist because this is one heck of an offence Garrett has put together. Today the offence wobbled at times. But ...
Stand back when it starts to click, lads.

Gregory and Lawrence baby!

I kinda feel like Rod Marinelli is crap.. Maybe the tools in the toolbox are just terrible but I can sit at home and know exactly where Eli is about to go with the ball but yet are defense just constantly gets chopped at.

It's just disapointing... You kinda hope going into the season that the organization knows something you don't about the defense.. Well they don't..

They penny pinched and they basically handicapped our chances of having a big season. It can still happen but I just can't get over how awful that defense looked.

What exactly did he do today that was so impressive? I'll give you he had no INTs. He also didn't have any TDs. He also had a mediocre completion percentage to go along with a pathetic yards per attempt. He also overthrew receivers and had a lot of sloppy late-game passes that should've been picked. He also had a worse game statistically than any game Weeden played in last year.

2 DEs away from a Super Bowl :laugh:That's funny. Our LB's are average{at best} and our secondary is below average and our DT's aren't anything to write home about either.

For grins, let's say I agree with you.
But, dear boy, don't you agree the defence was not as horrible as we might have thought? I expected them to give up 30 points. So I am kind of relieved....

I do agree with most of what you're saying.

But he should've have two touchdowns.

He also could've won the game had Williams gone out.

So not terrible.

I had hope for Rod a few years ago when we were signing guys off the street and the defense was actually being competitive. Thought they'd turn the corner with better talent, but despite adding some new pieces we still keep struggling. Although even with a few upgrades we never have landed a dominant pass rusher still have the same so-so secondary.

I was very disappointed with our interior line. I thought they would be a strong point. The Giants poor line destroyed them.
