Web hosting

So I'm working on a small business website and am beginning to look at web hosting companies. I found a pretty good site which offers a list of web hosting companies.

They all seem to offer the some of the same things with a minimal price differential.

So can anyone offer any ideas on things I should definitely consider for a start up site?

I had to do some research recently for the project I am doing at work. Thanks to Reality for giving me some good links to look up.

Every time I looked up bulletin boards to guage what people thought were good hosting sites and from people who use different sites.

Two names kept coming up over and over.

Hostgator and a small orange (ASO).

One is in Florida the other is in Georgia.

In the end I decided to go with host gator as the price/options were a tad better.
