All the examples were 2nd and 10yards ore more. Not sure if coaches told him to throw to Dunbar but I'm sure the coaching staff did tell him to stay ahead of the chains and have a manageable 3rd down.

That's the right call for a backup QB in his first start who just threw an INT. Even a starting QB would have take the sure 5 yards in that situation. It's basic situational football.

The issue I have with not throwing deeper routes is on first down. That's the best time to do it since the defense was dead set on stopping the run and not expecting us to pass.

they're all second and 10 or more because we never pass on 1st down

How much of his fear stemmed from himself and how much of it came from coaches in his ear?
Straight question demands straight answer.

I think the coaches told him to only look at 1 (maybe 2) receivers before the check down to Dunbar.

That could keep him from seeing some of the open guys, but the non throw to Witten had to be on Weeden. The line if sight to Witten was right in line with where he threw to Dunbar

Hey now! A beer gut Weeden fan film review... I've never seen one of these before. I can almost smell the Cheetos dust...

I think I'm going to get a tape of Troy Aikman's 4TD, near-flawless Super Bowl MVP performance. If I freeze the tape enough, pretend that I was in the huddle and knew the game plan, and pretend that every defender on the field is a complete idiot who is never aware of the ball... then I should be able to show that Troy made the wrong decision on every throw.

That guy has been writing/reporting for a website for a long time. He is now working with Mike Fisher who is at the Cowboys facility everyday as a legit reporter.

It is a better breakdown than anything I've seen from the Cowboys media guys like Broaddus.

I think your reply is totally off the wall. This guy has a real review, something like you don't see on here with much backbone, and all you got is a mockery of a reply.
You want someone to believe it is something to be dismissed, then atleast do so with the same amount of effort and research as this guy did otherwise you be wise to say nothing.

What were the coaches saying? "See that open player down the field? Yeah, don't throw there. Throw it to that player covered underneath. Go get them, tiger!"

Players come back to the sideline as well and coaches need to then tell him. it not as if once the game starts there is no conversations taking place throughout the game. There are and if coaches are seeing something or needing him to be more aware of certain things then it is up to them to bring it to his attention. As a backup there is no doubt they worked with him throughout the week of protecting the ball and not turning the ball over and sure he will take safer throws to ensure that but coaches also need to be able to help take the reigns off a player

There is no effort needed. Anyone can sit in their catbird seat and say what should have happened... but this is real life, not Madden. I'm not impressed.

I would like to see some of these guys strap on the pads and play the game from the line of the scrimmage, and then tell me if they can spot the open man without pausing the action from an omniscient all-22 camera angle. There's a reason why the term Monday Morning Quarterback has existed long before a bunch of losers started filming YouTube game reviews. Everybody thinks they know it all.

well apparantly Romo and 31+ other QBs can obviously do it better than Weeden can.

but it apparently is easy to say behind a computer screen, isn't it

People who are quick to cast stones usually need a little work on their own life.

Maybe it's you that sucks and is horrible.

I suck and, I have to admit, pretty horrible.
Maybe I should cast more stones...
Make me feel better.

wow you get all that from a little criticism from fans of the team about a backup QB? really?

I wish this team lived up to the hype that I had for it, and probably could of very easily had it not had some serious injuries that were out of the team's control. Does it upset me a little to know this could be it for this year possibly? of course. Am I being a little harsh for a QB who is just a backup afterall and was never expected to be anything more? probably yeah

but you know what, that is my right as a fan and as an American. As far as being miserable? nah not at all, my life is outside of football. Football comes secondary and with it the disappointments that come with it which mean nothing. Have a good day.

May be sacrilegious.

But.

Romo needs to be up in the press box.

Snore

Provide something germane to the actual tape / game without all of the "no one outside of the coaching staff may comment" histrionics
