Weeden vs Cassell

Frankly I saw Cassel regressing game after game.
Weeden won yesterday,for what is worth,maybe the game plan was for him in Dallas was to be out on the field on a check down frenzy.
I would not put it pass our coaching staff.

Texans have alot of wildcat in their offense..they dunk & dunk & once in awhile throw deep. Usually successfully with Hopkins who beat Revis like a drum when they played.

The Texans also have some good receivers. There's more there than what Dallas had. That's a draft need for the Cowboys I think.

Brandon Weeden sucks but he still played well enough to win the 2 games he started. Cassel sucks more and that's the biggest insult I can give him. Cassel is no Weeden.

You obviously didn't watch every game this season. Weeden had a 67-yard completion, nearly all in the air, with the Cowboys. Cassel couldn't throw the ball 67 yards if his life depended on it.

I've watched every minute and although I've done my best to forget every single horrific second of weeden at QB, I can still vividly recall him checking down on 95% of his passing plays. A couple of bombs made no difference he is the worst QB I've seen play for us and that includes Chad Hutchinson.

Weeden played very well in the Falcons game. It's what I tried to convey here. He was averaging 9.5 yards *per attempt* in that game. So there was nothing wrong with checking down because it was working.

Overall, I would take Weeden over Cassel. Weeden was no great shakes himself, but you would like to think that if he was a little more aggressive downfield he would be better than Cassel. The only thing Cassel had over Weeden was pocket mobility.

Like I said, if you could combine the 2 guys, you'd have a darn good QB.

They are both terrible. Weeden has the worst pocket presence I have ever seen and Cassel just doesn't have the arm. It doesn't matter if Weeden won a game or two had he played...there is no way with either we make an impact in the playoffs.

I had a Browns fan tell me before he ever played a down with Dallas that Weeden always played well in relief. That bore out in each opportunity he had in Dallas. When I saw him enter the game on Sunday for the Texans, I figured he'd play well since he's done that multiple times in Cleveland and Dallas. I also figured we'd see a reactionary thread like this because of how poorly Cassel has performed. He's been really bad.

Back to Weeden...

However, that same Browns fan said Weeden absolutely sucks when given a week to digest that he'll be playing from the first offensive snap. We've seen that play out as well in Cleveland and in Dallas. I don't know what the deal is with Weeden, maybe it's mental. All I know is, I don't have any regrets or ill feelings towards the decision to bench/waive him. He wasn't going to improve and I feel the Texans will realize this soon enough. If not, they'll keep him as the backup going into next year and end up like we did.

Which was the right call, in hindsight? Stick it out with Weeden, after his 0-3 start, or go with Cassell?

2nd question -- How many of you have a different answer now, than you did 2 months ago?

They are both bad QB's and we would have been better off with Moore !!!!!
