Week #1 Game Plan

i doubt we can lose now, i hear the Giants are going with a new tactic of not tackling our guys, they want to be trendy.

Everyone has a plan, until that ball is kicked.

I think we will see some screens and designed QB runs as well which will slow down the game and pass rush for Dak. We should look at what Seattle does with Russell Wilson and employ the same strategy. Use Dak's legs to stress the defense and get him out on the edge to make big plays running or throwing...

We do that-- and I think we win. If Garrett crawls into his shell and tries to play it safe with Dak, I think we lose. The best asset Dak has right now is his athleticism and decisiveness. Give him simple reads and if it's not there-- let him take off with the ball. He makes a few big plays, the offense will get into a rhythm and his confidence will grow and it opens everything else up offensively and plants the seed of doubt in the opponent.

Linehan has shown he will do that in PS,now lets hope Garrett doesnt turn Dak into another Weeden with his trademark dink and dunk stuff.

Yah... I am hoping they let the kid play ball. You can tell he has a fiery, competitive personality. That is contagious and can set the tone for the whole team. I'd live with some rookie mistakes if it meant he was given the green light to grip it and rip it.

They have the much better defense and the better QB. I think we can win, but don't count on it being easy.

Yes, at least on paper their defense looks to be much improved. And we are going to have our hands full if we don't get some pressure on Eli. This game isn't a gimme by any stretch.

Agreed. The scariest part about this game to me - is that the Giants have the luxury of falling behind a bit and we likely don't. Our offense with Dak likely isn't built for that. Meaning, we can't afford mistakes. That's a lot to ask of a team starting a rookie week 1 of the season.

I'm not real familiar with this RPO, it sounds pretty basic and simple to execute, maybe more effective than some of the stuff we were trying to do with Romo out last year, i'm just wondering whats the drawbacks to it? It seems that if the QB reads the play properly it puts us in favorable plays vs the defense.
