Week 1 vs Jets Notes/Prediction

Uh oh...they caught wind of this place over on the Jets forum. Someone just listed all the idiots that post here. :laugh2:

....IS VERY TRUE. But our run defense will struggle too....Jets will run at will. We will lose this game by 10+.:banghead:

somebody else on here said it best- we're gonna get raped.

Well I was going to make a prediction but I just can't get that picture of Buddy Ryan watching the game wearing a Cowboy's tee shirt.:shatfan:

If someone could convince me he'll wear a Jets tee, then I'll predict a Cowboy's win.

"notice how they don't have a single mention about their o line in their discussion. Are they delusional or just ignorant ?"

Somebody didn't read the initial post.

Ware vs. D'Brick...

If Ware disappears in the pass rush against their all-star LT, it will be a long night for our defense.

Ware has to play like a star and make an impact for us to win this game.

Ware will be Ware. Just like Revis will be Revis. You can't stop D. Ware, he makes hall of famers look silly.

Well if the coaching staff says don't throw his way. Most QB's listen. Like NA

most teams threw away from him....what did we do?

We let Miles abuse him....this is the mindset we need coming into this game...show them no respect until the clocks is turned off

We need to come in like "Revis who?" Oh, bomb to Miles

:laugh1:

I did this a few weeks ago and never got around to posting it, so I'm just going to throw it out now, before this season gets started. Basically, I watched every sack last season by DeMarcus Ware, Clay Matthews, James Harrison and Julius Peppers (the top four pass-rushers on NFL Network's top 100 list). I noted when and where the sack occurred, who was blocking on each play and how long it took from the snap of the ball until the quarterback was under wraps (even if he didn't go down right away).

Would like to post this again regarding us not letting D. Ware take on a LT all game.

I agree, I actually enjoyed the tone and tenor of their board quite a bit.

In my opinion, they're crassly underrating Romo. This isn't surprising, though. Certain prominent elements within the sports media perpetuate a narrative about Romo that is only tangentially related to the truth.

Their analysis of the Cowboys interior O-line is fair, and it's nothing I wouldn't be saying if our roles were reversed. The Cowboys are hitching their wagon to a seventh round rookie who didn't start in college and a second-year undrafted free agent. If we're being honest with ourselves, most of us would admit a certain amount of fear and consternation.

Ryan will move Ware around the field. and even if he left him there he'd still do work.

There should be a Spike Lee film on Ware called "D'Ware Doin' Work"

They are, one thing many people don't realize is Romo had his best season statistically when he was sacked a career high 34 times (so when we had our worst O-Line, then last year happened). Also, I believe we have upgraded at O-Line. Adding T. Smith is a huge upgrade, Costa beat out Gurode, Free is solid, then we are questionable at guard but even many feel we have upgraded there.

Romo 2009 (sacked career high 34 times)

Before I reply to some of the points in this thread, I just wanted to say I think you have a good team this year - always thought Romo was underrated - and I believe the Rob Ryan hire was your best move of the offseason. Your offense is loaded with talent (I've got Witten and Dez on my fantasy team) and your defense can be very good under Rob.

You're in a rough division, but I think you've got a shot to win it. We'll see if the "dream team" in Philly can actually play ball together and how well your offensive line fairs, but I think you're a double digit win team barring any huge setbacks. The Giants got beatup with injuries already and while I think the Skins will make progress, I still see them as a .500-ish / 7-9 team.

As for week 1, I hope their are no injuries in our game. I'll say that right off the bat.

As for the stuff about Revis being used by Miles Austin? I'm sorry fellas, that's just not going to happen. Be my guest and call him overrated and anticipate him being "exposed" - but don't be shocked if Miles Austin has one catch for five yards next Sunday. Who knows though? Maybe Rex has Revis on Dez the whole game...

But I think the game will be close, and probably decided by turnovers. If Sanchez is mistake free and Shonn Greene holds on to the football, I like our chances - and regardless of whether that does/doesn't happen, I could envision Jason Witten carving up the middle of the field and Dez Bryant hitting up Cromartie for a big play or two that could decide the game. Either way, the most worry for you guys should be that young offensive line. Rex will do his best to confuse that unit and get after Romo from all angles.

As I said before, hopefully we both stay injury free and put on a good show. And for those of you doubting Revis, you will find out soon enough he's the real deal.

Good luck on the season, except for next Sunday ;).

I don't know how much better Revis is than Nnamdi but Miles toasted him the few times they matched up the last time we played Oakland. Guess we will find out next week how well Revis and Miles match up. Who wins? Toss a coin, it's a tough one to call.

I wish you guys the worst of luck next Sunday (except for any injuries) also. And way to come over and be respectful at least!

I do think Revis is a top corner I don't see how we could deny that.

We will see him on Austin and Dez. I doubt he shuts them down completely but he will make them struggle.

Regarding the titanic showdown between Miles Austin and Darelle Revis, it's not going to happen.

Why?

Because the Cowboys coaching staff and Tony Romo are far too intelligent to let it happen. Would you rather throw against Revis covering Miles or Cromartie covering Bryant? I venture the latter.

When the Cowboys are intent on getting the ball to a certain player, they're going to do their level best to ensure that player is nowhere near Darelle Revis.

Lots of unjustified confidence in this thread. This Jets team has been to the AFC title game two years running and has the best defense in football. Their offense isnt great, but they won't need to be to move the football on us.

Add in the ten year 9/11 anniversary emotion and this would be one of the more surprising wins in recent Cowboys memory IMO.
