Funny, because even Romo said Dak's footwork was much better this year. But what does Tony Romo know about quarterbacking? And what I tried to explain to you is he had plenty of games like this in the past even with Kellen Moore give me a break in capital letters Prescott had 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions which by far probably was his best year outside his rookie year that was as good or better than Patrick mahomes that year 2021 in case you can't remember he can have less interceptions and more touchdowns even playing wide open I'm telling you expect it to happen again and I don't even care if it happens if he fumbles it throws an interception in the game where we need big throws high risk high scoring games Prescott can be that quarterback as well..
Let me reiterate cause maybe you guys just don't understand this, this has less to do with Prescott and more to do with who were our wide receivers last year who were our play callers and who was designing the plays and calling the games that was the bigger problem... Literally Prescott is a drop back pocket passing quarterback he is not a runner he will run when needed but if you need to him to be that quarterback to put up 350 yards a game he can do that there's just more risk to it just like all quarterbacks now you get it just like all quarterbacks the more you stand back there and throw the higher the risk it's gonna get kicked off or bounced or fumbled it it happens..
I'm gonna say this one last time there's gonna be a lot of games in the middle of the season where Prescott's going to have to be that quarterback again he's going to have to throw 35 passes there may be an interception or a fumble it happens it is what happens when you do higher risk type play calls.. And guess what I won't be complaining about it just like I didn't complain last year because we all knew most of it was not Prescott's fault he is not a changed quarterback this year he's just doing what the coach is asking him to do but sometime in the year just like last year,
the defense and the special teams are gonna make mistakes and give up points and give up yards and we're going to need to score Prescott's going to stand back there and do what he's always done and if he happens to make a mistake, it's part of the game..
But I get it, Dak is the 3rd rail for some. You can't even mention his name. If you praise him the haters come out. If you knock him, his fans come out. And even if you do neither, as I did, you still get blowback!
For the record, I have supported Dak in the past and I have said they can win it all with him. But last year I said, like just about everyone who knows what a football looks like said, Dak needed to stop making bad throws into coverage. Before anyone jumps to his defense, I understand that about 5 of his INTs were actually balls that bounced off receivers and stuff like that. But many of his bad throws were bad decisions regardless of what the receivers did. You don't have to argue with me, argue with Mike McCarthy because he said the same thing and that's even why he took over the offense from Kellen Moore. My original comment was to the effect that MM taking over the offense seems to have Dak playing much more efficiently than in the past. I never said Dak was awful. I just said he was playing better - so far. And I know he has had some really good games in the past, and some really bad ones which I will not recap in this post because we all know about them.
My issue has never been with how good he plays, my issue with Dak has been his contract. And before you say anything about how someone else with a big contract is playing, let me just say, Dak got $40 million a year when Dak was playing like whoever you want to bring up as an example is now. And btw, if Dak was making $50 million I would raise the bar on his performance level to match his salary, as I am sure the fans of those other teams with high paid QB have already done. Eagles fans were booing Hurts Thursday night!
