Elliott is as advertized. Quick, Powerful, and hungry. I like it.

Romo - this is disheartening. It was basically an arm tackle. There are 3 ways to survive as an NFL QB.
1. Quick release like Peyton Manning
2. Big and Strong like Ben Rothlisberger
3. Elusive like Wilson

Romo is none of the 3. I hope for the best but this is beginning to look like the movie ground hog day.

WR - Williams really pisses me off. Either we don't have a WR coach or Williams has just refused to listen. You can't wait for the ball to come to your stomach. You have to go get it!

DE's are exactly what we feared they would be. Even D Law is getting zero pressure. Someone needs to start making plays.

The 1st half DT's looked pretty solid against the run. Zero pressure on passes though.

SS- Church, Wilcox and Heath are just not good enough to be starting caliber SS's. Frazier it's too early to know but I don't see anything special there.

Dak continues to impress and if T WIll makes the play he should have it would have been an extra impressive performance.

LB's - Lee is the only starting caliber LB we have so hopefully he stays healthy.

It will be interesting to see the identity the team takes.

I would love to see a ground and pound offense where the O line just wears down defenses and imposes their will. There is enough talent at RB to just demoralize opposing teams.

This type of style is normally reserved for teams with solid defenses. That is not us.

Romo is very concerning to me. His cap hit is huge and I really can't see him being someone you can count on. Too many injuries and his style of play leaves him vulnerable. Hopefully Dak continues to impress and can answer the call when needed.

We need a better number 2 receiver.
We need a DE opposite D Law that teams have to at least game plan for.
We need Jaylon Smiths nerve to fire.
We need a SS that can cover and take good angles.
We need to replace Carr at CB. He just let's receivers make catches and tries to be there for the tackle.
We need to find Free's replacement. Chaz Green may or may not be it. So far he inspires little confidence.

That are still a lot of needs.

The more clock they can chew up at least the defense will be well rested.

Good observations, especially about Williams. If I am his agent, I get in his ear about getting his value up by showing he knows how to execute pass catching 101.

I think what we saw in that drive that Dak hit Witten for the score on was what we will be seeing, the Zeke Show with Morris commercials. We do not have the D for a ground and pound but we do have the O for it and have no choice but to play keep away. The D will not only be a work in progress but such a long way to go. We are missing more pieces than we have.

Too late for that, we've seen this for the past 3 years. You don't extend him period.

I thought early in the second Seattle's D line was looking pretty discouraged...and for whatever reason Chancellor was out of there after getting trucked, getting a cheap shot penalty and getting trucked again.

When it was 1's against 1's we were fine, even with Dak.....there were three drops that would have added another 60-70 yds to Dak's passing total. Hopefully we get through the next couple weeks healthy and ready to punk the Giants.

I agree with the majority of this. Pass rush will kill this team this year. I for see a lot of 34-31 games.

Completely disagree with Romo's hit being an "arm tackle". He had a big man fall downward onto his shoulders, compressing his spine in the process. That hit would have hurt most people, even a youngster.

Exact narrative at the end of 2013--just saying. Every year.

He was done after he missed the final game in 13, then he was done after the niners game in 14.

Now he is done again.

The fan postgame last night was basically rooting or him to be injured so dak can play. Not that I care what that gavin dawson guy has to say about football but he repeatedly kept saying I think he is going to need surgery and his career is over....then they took calls for two hours about how he is done and should be benched or retire.

I hope he has a great year, the end is near but its not here with all due respect to the great band of horses.

The jigsaw puzzle of the defense is more like a JAG-puzzle.......

avril was running full speed and Tony was going into a slide you can see he was shocked by the contact. As mickey said last night Romo was kind of scared from the hit.....I think he was surprised and didn't feel avril at all.

I bet it helps him going forward.

What? Other than missing on all three Romo points you were good.

Greg Cosell says Romo has the second quickest release he's seen since Marino. Look Cosell up if you don't know who he is.
Roethlisberger has missed the second most games in the last five years of any starting QB. Season's of 12, 13 & 12.
Elusive? LOL Russell will have to have YEARS of plays to equal Romo's elusiveness. Go to You Tiube and watch five solid minutes of plays.

C'mon man!

He was elusive. Very much so and it was a big part of his game. Age and injuries have caught up with him.
A slug could have tackled him on that run.

As far as quick release, he's had that all along he simply holds the ball too long trying to make a play. The only time I've seen Romo play QB like there are more plays to be made was in 2014 when he had that run game. Maybe that hit was a wake up call? And this is not like the previous 13 years, there's a guy behind him that a lot of people are wanting to see play real ball.

And if Dak thinks he's going to get that amount of time when this gets real, he's in for an awakening. And they'll want him to take off running because QBs that run too much don't get to play too much.

My takeaway from that game was that the potential of Zeke is tremendous but he will need to learn when to go down and not go head-to-head with a 225 SS. I know it was his debut and it was against the best run D over the last 4 years but he could use some Emmitt time on the best I ever saw at avoiding the big hit. It's not about one play but all the plays he can make. That said, he sent a message to every run D we will face, there is no backdown or fear in him. He ran with authority, speed and attitude. But, I want him to protect himself.

I wonder if that moron that predicted Morris would lead the team in carries and rushing still feels the same?

Rewatched that play on Romo several times.

They blitzed and Zeke blew the guy up, but he did fly over the top and a bit into Romo's line of site. Check that box for Zeke though. Nice job!

Romo steped forward and could have then gotten rid of the ball...and should have.

Avril got the jump of Free but he was way outside (room for Tony to step forward) of the initial pocket, so that's not all on Free.

Romo took off to a very open field but was planning to slide in the open area, but Avril was so fast he came from the entire other side and pounced on him while he was sliding.
BTW, Give me a freakin break calling that an arm tackle:rolleyes: . Dudes full body weight slammed him.
Very, very fluky.

But really, the pocket was there after the blitz pickup and the flying body in front of him and the feeling that Avril had beaten Free maybe even worse than he actually did made Romo take off.
Romo's fault, imo.

Yeah that is what I meant. He needs to get rid of the ball quickly the way Manning did. One of the things that made him so great (escapability and extending plays) is now a detriment.

He needs to avoid getting hit.
