Week 3: What is Jaylon Doing?

I stick LVE and Neal as my everydown backs and try and sprinkle Cox in on some longer passing downs.

He is doing the calls for the defense, that’s his impact. Other than that, he’s not showing any physicality or impact.

Yep, not a cherry pick. I'm watching Smith closely and he has no lateral movement, lacks speed/quickness, and doesn't fill the hole like he should. He's just not very good.

When Parsons can go back to LB this D will be much better.

He takes the worst angles I’ve ever seen. He just doesn’t have any instincts. I will he give him one compliment though, he does try real hard! Lol

He honestly looks like Deion tip toeing when running side to side. I have to think this is a result of his injuries, and never going to be as he once was. I have honestly never seen him go side to side with full force, which is really sad and unfortunate.

#93 Basham and #98 Bohanna were equally bad to me. Basham has the edge and needs to make sure nothing gets outside. He could have done that a lot better by getting a little deeper in the backfield forcing the RB to go inside earlier before the two double teams could have effect.

Bohanna got completely washed out and could not get off his block. Poor effort on his part.

Jaylon was slow to react and had no situational awareness. Worst part was he didn’t even dive at the RB’s legs. Worse than whiffing, he didn’t even swing.

Jaylon is too top heavy and plays too top heavy in my opinion. No strength from his legs. No speed or power.

I don’t get why Cox is not taking snaps from Jaylon. Cox is the better player right now.

He also missed an open field tackle on short pass.

People need to raise their standards. That was an ok game for Jaylon standards, but for what you would expect from a starting NFL linebacker that was not a good game.

He's lucky he rarely had to cover anyone and that the eagles didn't run the ball more.

I saw LVE miss a tackle too. He's average on a good day but he's a HoF compared to Jaylon. They both need to go.

Jaylon had another play where someone had stood up the runner, and he comes flying in to jump on top of the stood up "pile". Not sure what he planned on accomplishing there. Last week I said I was surprised I wasn't complaining about Jaylon for as much as he played, and he didn't take long to fix that for me. He still sucks.

I swear I would never cherry-pick bad plays on a cowboy but it does seem like JS runs from or sidesteps anything coming right at him. I've seen it too many times now. At least he didn't swipe last night.

The weekly cherry pick a bad Jaylon Smith play:laugh:

This wasnt his finest moment, but he did a good job spying Hurts and getting sideline to sideline all game.
Players miss plays
But overall jaylon played a good game last night

Jaylon was not so bad last night. That play above is common, unfortunately. He does seem to shy away from direct contact. On the plus, I didn't notice any out of line celebrations from him.

It's official.....this is an obsession. Our designated Defensive Fall Guy if the wheels come off this team. Can we get a LVE weekly assessment?
