Cowboys used a costly 3rd round pick on WR Jalen Tolbert. Fans were told Jalen Tolbert was looking great and would be a big part of this 2022 Cowboys offense.

We're in Week 8 and at the end of October. Where is Jalen Tolbert? He's been inactive most of the past 7 games. When is he going to play and be a part of this season? The Cowboys offense is struggling, has several receivers injured and is in need of some help.

Where's the beef? Where's the help? Where is our costly 3rd round draft pick?

I get everyone's responses, but how are you going to learn and improve if you don't even step on the field even 1 time? So we used a costly 3rd round pick to contribute next year in 2023, not this year? Is this what 3rd round picks today are supposed to be used for even though we need the help at WR right now?

He's being outplayed by Fehoko!

I think you are overestimating how often 3rd round picks transition to quality NFL starters, especially year 1.

On the bright side, Bland, drafted in the 5th, showed promise in camp and the one game he started, and he should be seeing more time with Lewis injured.

Williams was drafted in the 2nd and while he has made plays, he has played very limited snaps. I still think he has a bright future ahead of him.

Myabe, and maybe not. They could be about the same at the receiving position, but Fehoko is better on special teams

really just giving AC a hard time. I don't know what the deal is with this kid.

Very true. Sad thing is Fehoko has been put on IR due to injury the past 2 games, yet Jalen Tolbert is still not getting on the field. What gives? Does he suck that badly? Was he a wasted 3rd round pick?

Looks like it for now. Maybe he develops into something useful after a full offseason but i'm not taking that bet.

I suspect Washington will be back after the bye. Will he bring anything to the table? We’ll have to wait and see, but he should contribute at least somewhat being a veteran.
Agreed. Frustrating thing is Washington won't be ready for another 2 weeks. He has yet to see the field this 2022 season due to training camp injury.

But, Jalen Tolbert? Why can't he get on the field even for 1 play? He's our costly 3rd round pick. Heck, even an undrafted WR in Dennis Houston was able to make the team and play the first 2 games even though he was cut afterwards to create another roster spot for another position in need. Yet, Tolbert has remained on the 53 man roster but stayed inactive?

That's horrible, especially when our receiving crew needs help.

I get it, but WR can be a hard adjustment year one. Give it another year or two.
Just a few short years ago it seems that WR needed 3 yrs to break out, then 2, now asap yr 1.
I get it though, its how the game is changed, there is no time to sit and learn when you're on 4-5 yr contract max.
Rooks across the board share the same burden, it's a bonus getting yr1 production, but its more frequent now then ever before.

Tolbert was out there on a few plays on Sunday, but they never go to #18. Maybe they don't trust him yet. The problem is he won't trust himself until he gets some chances. I keep hoping for a breakout game for him, but maybe it really does take three years for most receivers to develop.

The draft is a crapshoot. Most 3rd-round picks are busts; very few end up being starters. Many 3rd-rounders are raw and need time to develop. The idea that a 3rd-rounder should be plug and play is way off base.

And yes, Dallas is going to pick guys who turn out to be busts. Every team does.

Bottom line is that Brown is better at this point. And hes probably our best blocking WR and Tolbert probably cant do that well at all. And for a team that wants to run the ball, Brown is better.
