I know we want instant gratification these days rather than wait and see however I was hoping for more from Tolbert by this stage.

Given the WR group isn't setting the world on fire, you'd have thought his ability to break in to the rotation would have been good so it is a concern he's hardly seen the field.

It's a fingers-crossed from me but I am getting concerned we've seen nothing, not even a glimmer from him.

I remember in one game he had a deep route, beat the cb, and barely missed on a long t.d. with rush.

You guys are overthinking it. He will make the field at some point. The cowboys getting rid of cooper, and getting themselves in a bind with injuries at the qb and wr positiion, does not have anything to do with tolbert. That is on the front office. He is a 3rd round pick. He is not supposed to take over the league

Cowboys used a costly 3rd round pick on WR Jalen Tolbert. Fans were told Jalen Tolbert was looking great and would be a big part of this 2022 Cowboys offense.

We're in Week 8 and at the end of October. Where is Jalen Tolbert? He's been inactive most of the past 7 games. When is he going to play and be a part of this season? The Cowboys offense is struggling, has several receivers injured and is in need of some help.

Where's the beef? Where's the help? Where is our costly 3rd round draft pick?

Are you kidding? You are bashing how they drafted?
Let's see, Gregory let and Williams is looking pretty good. How's Turpin looking? How's the rookie doing at left tackle? We could keep going, but I think you get the point.

You're horrible at English comprehension. It's not how the Cowboys drafted in the 3rd round, but who they drafted. But if you want to do it your way, ok, let's do it...

Where is last year's 3rd round pick (CB Nahshon Wright)? How about last year's 2nd round pick (CB Kelvin Joseph). You do know CB Jourdan Lewis is out for the rest of the season due to a lisfranc injury to his foot, so why is one of this year's 5th round picks (CB DaRon Bland) expected to start instead of last year's 2nd or 3rd round picks? Also, the Cowboys cut another of this year's 5th round picks (DT John Ridgeway who was immediately signed and is playing for the Washington Commanders) even though everyone knows we need another big NT/DT in the middle of our Dline to help stop the run inside, but now they have been forced to trade a 6th & 7th round picks for a soon to be 31 year old DT who was currently a backup on a bad Raiders team. Nice decisions by this team, eh?

I get everyone's responses, but how are you going to learn and improve if you don't even step on the field even 1 time? So we used a costly 3rd round pick to contribute next year in 2023, not this year? Is this what 3rd round picks today are supposed to be used for even though we need the help at WR right now?
Noah Brown, Noah is playing ( even better than Gallup) and so Tolbert doesnt see the field., you cant have Ceedee, Gallup, Noah and Tolbert , with Schultz , Fergusson and Pendershot all on the field.

I don't expect a 3rd rounder to take over the league either however, by way of comparison, I looked at Gallup's 2018 rookie season first 7 games to compare "like for like" given they are both 3rd rounders (Gallup picked at 81 and Tolbert at 88)

Michael Gallup 10 receptions, 180 yards, 1 TD (interestingly game 7 was his "breakout" with 71 yards and a TD)
Jalen Tolbert 1 reception, 4 yards

7 games is a small sample size but a sample nonetheless and that is a big difference in iimpact.

lamb #1
Gallup proven #2
Washington #3 maybe competition for #2
Turpin special teams and gadget player

Tolbert, Brown, Fehoko, below that.

The hope is that Tolbert would have made the field at the low and at the high point he beats out washington and maybe competes with gallup

He was not drafted to be a lamb. He was drafted to be a brown, washington, etc with an upside of being a gallup. I don't think it will happen his first year, but there is still a lot of games for him to make a contribution

Agree with this concern and not sure how bad it has to be behind the scenes growth wise if he can’t be active and at least see if he gives us a boost. At this point is it a learning offense/route thing? I didn’t expect him to tear up the league but did expect 1-2 games where he contributes and shows flashes

Schultz, Ferguson and Hendershot are all alternating with each other to get some playing time at TE. Hendershot was not even drafted. We usually run a 3 WR (including slot) set, so why hasn't Tolbert touched the field at least for a few plays to give some of our starting receivers a breather?

Look around EVERY team and you see the same. Joseph hadn't been able to beat it brown because he's played well. If your 5th rd pick MAKES THE TEAM your happy. Thinking he would start is ludicrous. They didn't give a 6th and 7th.. its one or the other. Now go around all 32 teams draft picks and see how many 6th and 7th rd picks are currently getting any real playing time.
So you are pissed because a 5th rd pick looks like a real player over a 2nd? And that is somehow a problem?
This team gets an A grade for the last 2 drafts... impossible to see it any other way. Name me 1 team that has their last 2 1st rd picks better than ours.

How is our te position looking?

Two thoughts:

1) It's way too early to toss Tolbert aside here. Anyone who was paying attention new he was talented but raw as hell and would need time. I want to see him get another offseason under his belt before I think he's a wasted pick.

2) That being said, it once again shows the stupidity and foolishness of the homers who are wired to immediately never question anything the FO does and just assume the FO always makes the right call. Any sane, logical Cowboys fan would have realized that banking on Tolbert to fill a major role at WR this year was foolish and silly.

Better go check your sources before you insult people. Cowboys and raiders exchanged picks. We gave them a 6th, they gave us a 7th. But thanks for educating me.

It's that simple folks. The draft was just 6 months ago. R-E-L-A-X!

This is just my perception, but whenever the camera pans to him on the sideline I get the since he's nervous or the lights are too bright for him. As anyone else had this observation?

It's not my fault if certain internet providers are posting conflicting information, but I totally agree with accurate accountability. My apologies if I've been wrongly informed.
