I have a serious feeling that the Commanders are in for a long, long season.

Zorn? Really?

but there's no games, he tells it like it is

Minnesota is so overrated. They add Jared Allen and suddenly the experts predict their defense is going to go from 32nd in the league vs the pass to dominate. Pretty funny in my opinion. They are a 10 win team at max.

Their defense was rated poorly against the pass b/c nobody could run on them. Other than at QB, Minny is for real. Thankfully, QB is a pretty important position to not have a player at. Had they picked up even Jeff Garcia two years ago, they'd be a legit contender this year.

they really have been trying to hang on forever to some last hope of not sucking but they really just need to give up the ghost and re-build. trying to re-build on the fly has not come close to working for them.

i'll be shocked if they reach 7 wins.

Yep. It should really tell you something that nobody else wanted that job. They have issues on top of their issues.

Just the fact that they tried to trade for Chad Johnson and did trade for Jason Taylor, lets you know that they think the future is now in DC.

I guess that means that the front office really IS so blind that they couldn't see how lucky they were to go on that winning streak at the end of the season and sneak into the playoffs. Had Campbell not been hurt, they don't make it. Had they not played the poor teams they played, they don't make it. Seriously, T. Jackson couldn't have hit a jumbo jet with the ball on that day. Chicago has even more QB problems than Minny... and that's saying a whole lot. The Giants were simply discombobulated and Eli couldn't throw in the 50 mph winds that were there at gametime. And finally, Dallas couldn't have cared less about that last game.

I suppose Vinny and Lil' Danny actually saw all that crap and thought to themselves, "Gee... we really gelled. What talent we have here!"

Heck, they probably thought they would have done BETTER if Campbell hadn't been hurt, instead of realizing how lucky they were to get that guy out of the lineup.

:laugh2:

Lol... I suppose they're thrilled that Zorn is being polite to the players.

Commander fans do tend to skew facts a little. Jason Campbell is still a rookie, after all... and Romo is in his 8th year.

Ooops. Romo is only one year older than Campbell.

why not? IMO the vikes are a better team then the fudgepackers.

Jaguars, Steelers, Saints will all be ahead of them.

You don't win in the playoffs without a QB that can throw the ball. Unless Jackson improves a lot from last year, they aren't going anywhere.

Running alone can't win you a SB. And the Vikes D may be unstoppable against the run but they can still be passed on.

Umm, for some reason i don't see the Aint's being as good as they were last year. as for the hags and steelers , we all know that they are never gonna be as good or, ever win the division as long as manning is in a colts Uniform. The steelers are a good team, but the Browns are right on there tail , for that division. The vikings, all they need to be great, is solid play from the QB. From what iv'e heard, jackson is much better then last year , if so they are gonna be real good.

You don't think the Saints will be as good as they were last year?? They started 0-4 last year...now they actually have a Pro Bowl TE to throw to also, their offense is going to be damn good.

The Jaguars don't need to WIN the division to be better than the Vikings ya know.

I'd pick the Jags/Steelers/Saints over the Vikings anyday. Just wait until AP goes down with an injury also. Taylor can't handle the load like AP can.

These polls mean nothing. Games are played on the field of play not on paper. I'd rather not even be number one although I have to admit a tiny sense of pride. I'd rather watch them play and feel pride.

If the Commanders #22 ranking was a stock, I'd short the hell out of it!

They will be ranked no higher than 30 in any poll by week 2, they could be there be Sept 8th:D

Really not a fan of all this hype we're getting... too many times the heavy favorites always falter... hopefully we can be an exception.

Why do people buy into this flawed theory.

Favorites are favorites for good reason, they usually win!

Now I will acknowledge being the favorite to win the SB in pre-season is a little different.

Even the strongest pre-season favorite in history of the league didn't have shorter odds than the field.

I don't think I've ever seen a pre-season SB favorite with odds shorter than 4-1 or 5-1.

I'm fairly certain that the Cowboys current odds in Vegas are longer than 5-1, but lets just assume that's the current line.

That means Vegas sees the real chances of the Cowboys "living up to the hype" at less than 20%.

BOTTTOM LINE, STOP WORRYING SO MUCH AND ENJOY THE RIDE.

PFW power rankings

1. Dallas Cowboys
Rookie Felix only the third-highest-paid Jones in Dallas, but he’s a keeper.

2. New England Patriots
O-line might be their Achilles’ heel. Anything that doesn’t protect Brady is bad.

3. San Diego Chargers
Shawne Merriman injury could be difference between great and very good.

4. Indianapolis Colts
Manning injury underscores the scores of injuries the team already has suffered.

5. Minnesota Vikings
One man could make this team great — Tarvaris Jackson, not Jared Allen.

Sorry Deadskins can't even rank in the top half of the league. :lmao:

The complete list is here: http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/NFL+Zone/Power+Rankings/2008/rankings01.htm

lol someone should send this list to that delusional Commanders fan who thought Jason Campbell is the best qb in the NFC

Uh.....actually, if I'm not mistaken, Pacman is actually the poorest of all the Jones at this time. (HINT: take a look at player contracts and foreclosures).
