Dallas drafting 4th

RD1
1. Browns - Paxton Lynch QB Missouri
2. Chargers - Joey Bosa OLB Ohio State
3. Titans - Laremy Tunsil
4. Cowboys - Trade with BAL(7) Dallas gets RD1 RD3 RD4 from BAL
4. Ravens - Jalen Ramsey S Florida State
5. Niners - Jared Goff QB Cal
6. Eagles - Ronnie Staley T Notre Dame
7. Cowboys - Laquon Treadwell Wr Ole Miss
With Jerry Jones basically telling everybody dont expect another QB other than Romo starting i think the team will surround him with playmakers. Because TW is not a playmaker they thought he could be. He's decent but he's a little above avg. Imagine have 2 Dez Bryants on the field. Treadwell creates the same mismatches and he is as fierce as Bryant after the catch. He'd be the perfect fit for this teams offensive system.

RD2
Derrick Henry RB Bama
The workhorse this team needs. Pair him with either McFadden or Turbin or both and this team is right back where it was in 2014 on offense.

RD3
Sheldon Rankins DT Louisville
Beast of a player on the DL. Can take on double teams but athletic enough to loop on them stunts. Has 2 ints lol. Disrupts alot of plays with penetration on passing downs. And creates a pile on running downs. Marinellis type of guy.

RD3(BAL)
Tyler Matavevich LB Temple
Character guy, smart and doesnt hesitate. Covers tackles and even blitzes with 4 sacks.

RD4
Deon Bush S USC
Guy plays the single high posistion. Has the range and can tackle.

RD4(BAL)
Anthony Zettle DE Penn State
Guy to rotate with Lawrence. Very fast off the snap. Sometimes he goes too hard and overruns plays but that can be coached. What cant be coached is how hard this kid goes every play.

RD4(COMP)
Cody Kessler QB USC
Theres obviously talent there, would like this pick at this stage in the draft.

Hmmmmmmmm..............not bad LM, not bad. Took me a second to warm up to the Treadwell pick, but, it makes sense. Sheldon Rankins is going to be a STEAL for some team. He is a multi-scheme compatible guy.

Tough to pass on Ramsey IMO.

Also, I know people want a TB but that 2nd rounder is a Top 40 pick and I think you can get another stud defender at that point. I'd wait until later for a TB.

If you have a chance to draft a franchise QB (and you actually need one), you don't get cute and wait till the middle of the draft. That's just my opinion.

Our history would be a lot different had we taken someone like Mandarich or Sanders and decided to go with Billy Joe Tolliver or a Rodney Peete later in the draft.

I dont think Kessler is a franchise QB. I think he's a nice backup. But romo is going to be starting for atleast 2 more yrs. And Goff is a gimick offense style QB. Im guessing alot of people on this forum dont get to watch much of cal games. Call Goff a franchise type QB is funny to me. Id rather have Christian Hackenberg over Goff. Goff wouldnt be a fit in Dallas, he's more of a fit for Philly, or NO. them spread open style gimmick teams.

No way I'd pass on Goff or Ramsey. I am not that high on Kessler.

This team will put players around Romo that will help him and be there for the team incase injury happens to him and/or Dez. I guess people forgot what this team looked like without Romo and Dez. dont worry you'll get a reminder this coming week.

Sorry my friend, but your mock is extremely unrealistic. The Ravens, who are one of the worst teams in the league are currently depleted of talent, are not going to trade their 1st, 3rd, & 4th round picks to move up 3 spots... it's just not going to happen.

Also, Paxton Lynch plays at Memphis, not Missouri, and Joey Bosa is a DE, not an OLB.

Kessler in the 4th is still reaching. He lacks the tools to be a good NFL QB (short, weak arm, unathletic, etc.). Decent backup at best seems like his ceiling.

Henry will also likely be a late-1st round pick with the way he's playing.

lol slight mistake on lynch. but Bosa can play either posistion. And the way the rookie RBs have underwhelmed im willing to bet there is 1 RB drafting in round 1 and thats elliot

Romo didnt play that well when he played and is likely to be as brittle moving forward. Franchise QB arent always there when it is convenient to draft them

Signing a WR to a huge deal and then investing a top 10 pick in another isn't a good way to build a franchise....our need for a 2nd wr is highly overrated. A crafty vet and a 4th/5th round pick can make our wr corp great. No need to make huge investments there.

I like the rest of the picks though. Matavevich has a special place in my heart watching this Temple team succeed. I think Zettle would be a 3 tech for Rod

Oh, I worded that kinda funny. I don't think Kessler is a franchise QB either, not even close. What I meant was if you have an opportunity and a need to draft a franchise QB, it doesn't make a much sense to me to wait till the 4th (or the second or any other round for that matter) and decrease your chances of landing one.

And even if Romo plays for another 2 - 3yrs, that shouldn't stop the team from looking for his eventual replacement. And Jerry's recent comments about Romo being able to play for another 4 - 5yrs shouldn't be translated as the team not willing to take a QB with a top 5 pick. Remember that Jerry was willing to pull the trigger on Manziel just a couple of years ago.

I think Goff is the best pure passer in this draft. I'm not concerned about the offense he's been running at Cal (although I will admit I'd feel better if Tedford was still there and Goff was running his offense). And you are correct that Cal's offense compares favorably to what Chip's running at Philly, and if Goff was expected to play right away, then I may look elsewhere, but he'll most likely have 2+ yrs to learn Linehan's system.

I've been banging the Reuben Randle drum. No idea what the Giants' plans are with him but I believe he's a free agent this .

Although, I've noticed in recent weeks he's come under some criticism in NY for disappearing at times in games............ hmmmmmm

Hmmm i didn't think of him as an option. Myself like many others on here have been wanting Josh Gordon until it was made clear that he has to be cut by Cleavland for that to happen. I don't think the Gnats will try to retain him but i wonder if he will even be open to signing with Dallas. Always seems that cowboys free agents have no problem joining division rival but nats, skins, and egals players despise the Cowboys and will join sign with any team but us.

Gordon is another option. And as I said, Randle seems to have come under some criticism for his play so he might not be that great an option.

Reuben Randle would be a fine option, as would a guy like James jones or Nate Washington. As many holes as this team has its crazy to me that people are fixating on wr. Has it not be proven that good teams can without investing much/anything in wr's? Cam Newton would probably cut off a finger to have our receiving options right now and yet the Panthers are undefeated.

Agreed. If QB isnt the choice (and frankly, I am still not sold on using a first round pick on a QB in this draft), I would take the BPA on defense whether that be a DL, a LB or a DB. We could use help on all three levels at this point (obviously not knowing what we do in free agency).

So if we have a Top 10 pick and come out with Bosa or Nkemdiche or Smith or Ramsey, I could live with that.

I am with you on that and I think that I would take Goff over Ramsey if I had a choice. It would be enticing to put Ramsey and Jones together as safeties though.
