I don't get it. People don't want Lynch or Goff but want Kessler, Briss from State and seen others mentioned as well. Yeah, goal is to find the career backup quarterback.

lol slight mistake on lynch. but Bosa can play either posistion. And the way the rookie RBs have underwhelmed im willing to bet there is 1 RB drafting in round 1 and thats elliot

Bosa is actually more of a candidate to slide inside on passing downs. I am not saying it would be impossible for him to play OLB, but it would e solely as a rush backer in a 34 and even at that you'd be doing yourself an injustice. That guy is born and bred to be a SDE.

Signing a WR to a huge deal and then investing a top 10 pick in another isn't a good way to build a franchise....our need for a 2nd wr is highly overrated. A crafty vet and a 4th/5th round pick can make our wr corp great. No need to make huge investments there.

I like the rest of the picks though. Matavevich has a special place in my heart watching this Temple team succeed. I think Zettle would be a 3 tech for Rod

a #2 is highly overrated? I bet you dont say that on sunday when nobody can get open.

big investment? amari Cooper was the 4th pick last yr and got a 22mil contract 14 guaranteed. Its not as expensive as it was.

Oh, I worded that kinda funny. I don't think Kessler is a franchise QB either, not even close. What I meant was if you have an opportunity and a need to draft a franchise QB, it doesn't make a much sense to me to wait till the 4th (or the second or any other round for that matter) and decrease your chances of landing one.

And even if Romo plays for another 2 - 3yrs, that shouldn't stop the team from looking for his eventual replacement. And Jerry's recent comments about Romo being able to play for another 4 - 5yrs shouldn't be translated as the team not willing to take a QB with a top 5 pick. Remember that Jerry was willing to pull the trigger on Manziel just a couple of years ago.

I think Goff is the best pure passer in this draft. I'm not concerned about the offense he's been running at Cal (although I will admit I'd feel better if Tedford was still there and Goff was running his offense). And you are correct that Cal's offense compares favorably to what Chip's running at Philly, and if Goff was expected to play right away, then I may look elsewhere, but he'll most likely have 2+ yrs to learn Linehan's system.

Goff is in a offense whos offense is a spread you up bunch up Wrs and throw that wr bubble screen. Thats why i say alot of people dont seem to watch alot of him play. If he is going to have 2+ yrs to learn the system, Which is more likely atleast 3. IDK if this team will invest 3 yrs having its future sit only to have 1 yr to decide if they are going to pay him 15mil on the option yr after that rookie contract. Fans needs to deal with the reality of how this team operates. Jerry will tell you what theyre going to do and not do. Its up to you if you want to accept it. Jerry basically telling you Romo is the guy for yrs more is what is going to happen wether you or media like it or not. Once you quit basing your views on this team on what you would do and see them on what they tell you, you will have a better idea of what direction they could be going instead of the direction you want them to go.

Same was said about Clowney, but Texans drafted him and play him primarily at OLB. Well when hes not hurt. Which is never.

....and Clowney is clearly out of position. He should be playing defensive end in a 43. I think that's glaringly obvious at this point. He doesn't have the lateral quickness of the burst to play OLB.

For that matter, anyone comparing Clowney to Bosa needs to go watch some tape. They're two very different players.

QB and scheme make WR's. Having Treadwell and Dez in this offense would be like having a lambo stuck in a 25 mph zone. Change the offense and it MIGHT make sense, but even then I still wouldn't. Seahawks and Patriots have been great and they have 0 big name WR's aside from the former 7th rounder Edelman.

And I was talking about big investment in terms of assets not $. Spending big $ on a wr and using a top 10 pick on 1 in a calander year is terrible way to build a good football team.

That's a rather simplistic look at it. No one is suggesting that Kessler is on par with Lynch of Goff.

But there is the nature of "value" here. Some think a kid like Lynch is a total risk with a Top 10 pick. Miss on that and that's a huge mistake. Take Kessler in the 6th or 4th or 5th or wherever and he tanks? Not exactly end of the world stuff.

I don't think anyone would rather have Kessler over Lynch or Goff if all things were equal.

When you have a ton of other needs, using a Top 10 pick on a WR that you want to be your #2 might be a bit excessive. Cooper was drafted to be their #1.

I suspect you can find an adequate #2 in free agency and use that top ten pick for an impact player at QB, DL or LB.

Clowney came out of college anywhere from 20-30 lbs less than what Bosa will weight. Clowney is your perfect WDE whereas Bosa is likely a SDE.

KNowing the pst of Jerry, which is more likely to happen. Whatever it is ur thinking of doing or what i put in this mock with the top pick? be honest. This mock isnt what i want, the player i want at the top of the draft is Myles Jack. I think hes going to be the best player from this draft.

He is likely to do something foolish, which is not planning for the future, that will come much sooner than he thinks.

hes the QB i can see them going after the most. maybe rd3

San Diego, Houston and 1 other team (not cowboys) attended the NDSU--Univ of N. Iowa archrival Conf. game...........only the 1st 2 stayed for Wentz final 2 minutes drive for the comeback win...

Thinking someone will grab him in the 2nd, maybe very late 1st.........along lines of of N.Eng grabbing Grappalo last year........
Qb's almost always over-valued, especially with his proto-typical size, Smarts and athletism. His shortcoming is feeling the pocket pressure is my thought--something we almost take for Granted as we watch Rogers, Rothlesburger, Romo====Can that be a learned skill?--dunno

Sorry but Laquon Treadwell is not who's going to fix this franchise. We need to continue building this team at more important positions like DT, LB CB and QB.
Thanks for the effort, however.

Romo didnt play that well when he played and is likely to be as brittle moving forward. Franchise QB arent always there when it is convenient to draft them

I agree we wont be drafting this high for a while [pray]

Treadwell went off the table for me when it was made clear we would have a top 5-10 pick. If he was sitting somewhere around 15 I would be okay with it. As it stands we will probably have a shot at one of the elite blue chip prospects and he's not one of them to me. I think there's a total of 7 in this class. He's in the next tier.

I probably wouldn't go WR that early but if the team seriously considered OBJ last year, I have to think Treadwell will definitely be in play this year. It's safe to say TWill hasn't exactly grabbed the bull by the horns.

Personally I'm hoping DL or QB...Bosa would be my #1 target.
