It's not what I meant. Either view is valid. I just don't see why that game would move the needle one way or the other. About as embarrassing a defensive performance as I can remember seeing. Three offsides penalties in one game for literally not understanding what the neutral zone is.
Well it is a missed opportunity to knock off a ton of rust in one chunk and still get a W.
Sounds like he's healthy now, but I wouldn't suddenly declare him the starter against Pittsburgh. What I hope they can do is work him into games and gradually knock off the rust. Yeah, that requires some game management skills and it's not an answer that can be copied in a copy cat league, but I don't think it should be an impossible puzzle to solve for a species that could reach the moon.
If they had a strong defense, I might just say screw it. But I don't see any chance of them getting through the playoffs without having to really air it out. Even Tom Brady wasn't able to do that in the playoffs as a second year pro in 2001 (115 and 145 passing yards in the championship and the super bowl), so expecting Dak to do that as a rookie is just delusional. With that said, Tony might fail in that type of game too but at least he has won games like that before. So if Tony plays and practices like his usual self then I hope he eventually becomes the starter. If they're close to even, then stick with Dak, and at least he'll get experience.
