You always feel bad for the high effort guys who beat the odds and find a spot in the league. This is especially true for those whose spot is the Pro Bowl.

It'll be interesting to see if Brady/Moss can carry that offense. It will be a bit of a statement of how good a player Moss is at this stage of his career.

Moss goes as Welker goes and vice versa. Couple that with the fact that NE has a pourous defense and it's over for NE. Done.

I hate seeing the more talented players of the league get injured. I don't like seeing any injuries, but I really hate it when they involve the upper-echelon.
If they go to 18 games then the roster will have to be expanded to be able to handle these situations through the year. Maybe cut out a couple of preseasons.
I would like more football but not at the expense of injured players like Procter.

They have already said that if and when they go to 18, 2 pre-season games are gone.

That sucks... I was starting him in Fantasy Football in my championship game.

Guess I'm losing.

I have much respect for Welker. Hate to see him hurt.

I'm not saying that it works. I'm just saying that that's his philosophy.

Arrogant SF fans used to think this way too. It wasn't the players, it was Bill Walsh's offense and schemes that made SF so great. Well what did they have once TO, Young, Montana and Rice were gone.

This game is still mostly about having good players execute properly together as a team. It also helps a lot to have one superstar on each side of the ball.

Polian looks pretty smart right about now.
Not really. Injuries can happen at anytime. They didn't happen for the Patriots when they went undefeated during the regular season. The Colts had a chance to go for it last week and panicked.

Report: Brady has three broken ribs

Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on January 3, 2010 12:38 PM ET

On CBS Sunday, Charlie Casserly reported what a lot of people have suspected over the last month: Tom Brady has been playing through broken ribs.

According to the Boston Globe, Casserly said Brady has three broken ribs. The injuries were believed to have occurred in Week Thirteen against the Dolphins.

UPDATE: Shalise Manza Young of the Providence Journal reports Brady actually broke the ribs in the preseason against Washington. Then Brady aggravated the injury against the Jets in Week Two.

The injuries obviously have had a long time to heal and Brady played one of his best games last week against the Jaguars. We'll see if Bill Belichick takes Brady out early Sunday as a precaution.

The Patriots sat a number of starters because of injury precaution.

And that is why you rest your players when the game doesn't matter. Welker should have never been out there to begin with.

3 seed > 4 seed, and very easily could come into play.
