Well, I was wrong

I wanted Wade gone more than just about anyone, but hated the subsequent Garrett hire. Well, after four games I'm sold. I've never seen such a turnaround in a team's demeanor and mentality. He has unlocked this group's potential despite some key injuries an offensive line that only shows up about one out of every three plays. He'd be 4-0 as a HC if not for the stupid t-sip handing New Orleans the game last week. Just a remarkable turnaround. The playcalling is better. The effort is like night and day. The special teams has become very solid. The defense still sucks, but at least they are forcing turnovers by the bunches now.
Welcome aboard.

Your tardy but we will overlook that. :D

Yeah, well....water under the bridge, don't cry over spilled milk and every other corny euphemism I can think of. We're on track as a team and organization now. SURE hope Red wants to stay.....still say there will be other teams after him. Don't think he won't listen too. He owes Jerry NOTHING.

Because you're on crack.

Why would you fear this?

Can you name me one time in the history of the NFL that a coordinator was named interm HC, then after the season was "lost" to another team?

Do you really think the Cowboys could lose Garrett?

Seriously, you think another team could steal Garrett?

How is that even possible? He's under contract beyond this year.

Another team wouldn't even have a opportunity to speak with Garrett.

Now back to reality.

Jones believed in Garrett and gave him his first OC job. Perhaps a year earlier than anyone else. He even gave him that job before hiring his HC. A sure sign of confidence and loyalty.

Now Garrett does real well in 2007 and gets a quality HC offer in Baltimore.
He subsequently turns that offer down. What coordinator turns down a quality HC offer? Very Few!

Garrett wants to be in Dallas. Garrett wants to be the HC of the Dallas Cowboys. Garrett wants to work for Jerry Jones and is intensly loyal to him. Jones in turn would not and will not hire anyone else to be the HC of the Cowboys in 2011.

These are not opinions. They are simple facts based on common knowledge.

As I said last week, my primary concern is not Garrett. It's the team. They've quit on the previous two coaches, and I'm forced to wonder if they will quit on Garrett as well.

There are still things we haven't see yet from Garrett as a head coach. His personnel evaluation, personnel decisions, and his eye for talent. We will find out. So far he has did a good job. Good to see he is letting the younger guys get playing time. Something Wade didn't do at all.

that's Jerry's job, but back to Garrett. I'm sold on giving him a chance next season. I'd give him like a 2 or 3 year deal, and after next year, I would sign him long term if he kicks butt next season. So again, I'm sold on GIVING HIM A CHANCE. Not sold on if he's a Super Bowl caliber head coach, but no rookie is guaranteed to do that, so there it is.

Special teams are awful.- Coach D - bye bye

Can't get a pass rush. - PP bye bye

It's really a damn shame that we couldnt have made the change a couple weeks earlier, because there is a solid chance that we win out at this point.

Had we made the change at 1-4 (when it was blatantly obvious to everyone but Jerry) we would probably be 7-5 right now competing with the Giants atop the division... Yeah.. I know. Woulda coulda shoulda... I just recall fiercely wanting Wade gone and having to wait around a few weeks for Jerry to get off of his high horse...

Thank you for being a man about it Slant.

I remember I said I thought if Garrett replaced Phillips, the situation and results would be similar to when Romo replaced Bledsoe in 2006.

I was laughed at lol.

I've never been a fan of Wade, but I really wanted him gone after the Tenn loss. I think that was week four right?

Week 5 (4th game though right after the bye week). Then we laid an egg vs. the Brett Favre show. At that point, I was fit to be tied... But we had to deal with another 3 weeks of Jerry's ego. Thank goodness he broke "tradition" & fired a coach mid season. This is so much better than facing the prospect of riding the rest of the season out under cupcake.

Yeah it was so obvious after that game it was sickening.

We were being told by the media and Jerry that firing him midseason wouldnt do anything. Yeah, bet he wishes he has those 3-4 weeks back...

Luckily, we finally had a loss so bad even Jerry couldnt handle it anymore. In this case, Jerry's emotional and impulsive behavior actually proved beneficial
