Im glad to see Bowles is leaving and the defensive line coach. GREAT!

I would like to see Deion Sanders come in and coach our secondary. (Wishful Thinking)

It would be good if Jerry Jones would take this in good consideration.
Fact...superstar players RARELY make good football coaches. Just because you know a guy's name, doesn't mean he would be a good coach.

I'd be all for it, hell I wanted Capers when we went to the 3-4.... I just don't know that Wade would be willing to bring someone with that kind of reputation .... That would be the other foot in the grave almost.

I (Wade) already have the guy who will replace me on staff as the OC and now I bring his DC in who has almost as many skins on the wall as I do?

Am I making any sense?
You're making a lot of sense actually. I still would do it. The ring is the thing.

Both have. It's Capers bread and butter, although he uses a lot of Zone Blitz schemes out of it. He and Wade together would be kind of scary (in a good for us way). I hope Jason Garrett, who coached with Dom in Miami, says a good word or two about him. In truth, that one is a long shot. Dom is a DC, not a DL coach.

Garrett reportedly had tabbed Capers and Cameron as his coordinators for the Balt and Atl jobs -- those were the guys he was talking about bringing with him so there was likely at least some discussion between he and Dom about working together.

I'd love to see it and if Wade allows it then that man is a much bigger man than I am. I'd just be really nervous about bringing in a guy with a resume similar to mine, who was buds with the guy wanting my job. I mean that has to cross your mind.

Then again maybe I'm paranoid

I remember that. Has Cameron been hired anywhere?

Honestly, the piece in all this that concerns me most is the retention of Bruce Read as ST coach.

I have faith the other positions will be filled better than adequately, but ST was horrid. Was I the only one holding my breath everytime we kicked off or punted?

I saw someone said something in another post about incorporating more starters into ST duty ala Woodson back in the day. Maybe so.

But the coaching has to play a major role in there as well as the bulk of your coverage units will not be starters.

ST was especially bad in the playoff game b/c we lost an ST spot to Glenn's position - that choice is on Wade (and Jerry) -- they knew the trade off.

I don't like the idea of using too many starters on ST. If we put the likely candidates, Roy and Hamlin out there, then we are going to have to give them some rest during the game b/c running your butt off down the field takes it out of you. What does that accomplish? It means that ST guys like Davis and Brown end up getting more defensive snaps. Is that really the trade off we want?

oh no, not Todd Bowles... where will we ever find someone to teach jacques reeves and roy williams how to cover someone... oh wait, nevermind. godd riddance bowles.

minus the sarcasm, the defensive line has done well, the other two areas are ok to what the hell? people yelled at wade all year long because he didn't "fix" the defense. the one parcells started and put his players / coaches into. now we'll get a chance to better see what wade wants to do.

despite many fans wanting something NOW, sometimes we gotta wait it out. romo taught me that one. : )

The Cowboys have reportedly offered extensions to keep three defensive assistant coaches that Sporano is trying to take with him to Miami. Those would be (1) secondary coach Todd Bowles, (2) linebackers coach Paul Pasqualoni and (3) defensive line coach Kacy Rodgers.

Hmmm, aren't these guys all Parcells guys??? Hmmm, Imagine that! So personally, I hope we lose them all and have to hire a whole new defensive staff that can finally bring in a kileer instinct (based on pass-rushing the daylights out of offenses and covering well underneath).

So Sporano (and let’s not kid ourselves, it’s really Parcells) can have his passive coaches back, because what I saw in 2007 was a Cowboys team that saw the majority of its improvements on the offensive side of the ball. And it’s no coincidence that all of Parcells' offensive coaches (except for Sporano) were replaced with new blood. It was the defense that many times in 2007 resembled the passive defense of Parcells’ past units, and it's not unrealistic to point to Parcells' defensive throwback coaches to explain why.

Even the December slide of the offense in 2007, and especially its playoff performance, was laced with many traces of Parcells’ past offensive units, making me wonder that Sporano had his hands into much of it, more and more down the stretch. Personally, I find it very suspicious how the Garrett-esque innovations on offense - like lining receivers in unusual spots, complex shifting, and unpredictable backfield sets – seemed to disappear down the stretch and were replaced with the usual “vanilla” formations and plays that were as predictable as Sporano’s and Parcells’ units of past seasons.

So to all the Parcells throwback coaches (Sporano included) I say "SEE-YA! I hope you go – PLEASE!”

We did lose Bowles.

I expect the other 2 to go as well.
