Well, let the controversy ensue

I said last week that my fear with losing this game, in part, was that a quarterback controversy would be in full swing.

And here it is.

And, ya know, it may be justified. I'm not sure I've ever seen Bledsoe look this bad.
I mean he threw two interceptions in 3 plays when the game was still in the balance!

That was terrible. I wonder if he was hurt or somthing, but he was well enough to drive us the field late in the 4th.....

It is true that several players other than Bledsoe also had bad moments.

Several on the OL had trouble from time to time. Flozell isn't close to 100% Terry Glenn has a couple of poor penalties. And so on.

So it isn't like Bledsoe is the only guy to blame - BUT he is the easiest one to replace.

I just don't trust Romo at all like everyone else seems to. Parcels agrees with that. We got beat as a team for 3 quarters. One players wasn't the reason for it.

but Tuna has ZERO reasons to "Trust" bledsoe either (this is from past years performance leading up to today)

I do not think anyone trusts Romo yet...how could they?

The problem is when you have a known bonehead at QB, you are willing to take a chance on the unknown.

Would you rather have a lottery ticket that has already been scratched off and won nothing or have a brand new shiny lottery ticket that has not been scratched yet?

Sure it may be a loser like the other ticket, but at least there is a chance...

We've had worse QB play the last 5 years then we had today. Atleast we have a QB that can throw a forward pass.

I don't think Romo could have played any worse.......:D

I don't want him throwing forward passes directly into defenders chests.

I see you missed Hutch and Ryan Leaf.

You'd have to reach to find a worse game than this.

This was the worst QB performance since Quincy Carter in Arizona in 2002.

I'm not sure I agree that "Romo wouldn't have done any better behind that line."

To me, that's the big positive of Romo. He has an ability move in the pocket and still complete passes when things break down around him -- in the preseason, at least.

The risk, clearly, is we don't know what he can do in the regular season. Jerry once stated in the preseason that we could see Romo if the line struggles.

That comment, alone, is enough to fuel any of this speculation. Three interceptions and a terribly game-changing performance in a loss is even more.

I just got back from the game. I won't go into a long dissertation but it seemed to me we started to get sluggish and sloppy in the second quarter. I told some of you folks that the Jaguars are not to be underestimated. They sometimes start of slow but always finish strong coming from behind. No matter their schedule last year, they do play good teams and they always end up with a 3 road games succession. If that doesn't hone you to fight like cat, I don't know what does.

Bledsoe absolutely had little zip on the ball and was just making bonehead drops. He could have ended up with 6 interceptions today if it were not for the drops. When pressured he does have a tendency to throw instead of think.

Our defense sure got a wake up call didn't they. The Jags with 3 tall receivers are an absolute nuisance. And this game was a coming out party for Matt Jones. The Jags Oline and defense performed better after they held the Cowboys to a field goal in the first half. And they certainly can stop the run throughout most of the game. Their offense certainly got their share of first downs didn't they? And that carried pretty much throughout the second half.

I would be inclined to start Romo as well against any aggressive power defense.

The line was better than I thought it would be. This is on Bledsoe's head, I don't think they will bench him yet, seriously. But lose badly next week like this, and he might be benched.

Yeah I think so also.

If Bledsoe continues to start and play the way he has today Dallas will be a
5-11 team!

We could only hope. That would ensure Bledsoes demise. Instead he will tease this team all the way to barely miss the playoffs record or an early playoff exit and people will think "next year will be different".

Yeah... if Bledsoe would have had a mediocre day we would have won... he was horrible.... I dont know if I believe that Romo is the answer.... we will live and die with Bledsoe this year...... this game really left a bad taste....

on a sidebar... that was an amazing catch by TO for the TD...turning one way and then the other

Did you happen to see how terrible the D has played since the 2nd quarter? At one point Byron completed 10 passes in a row. Bledsoe started playing bad, the OL and the D's play soon followed.
Yeah, I saw it. Saw the whole game.....

Had Bledsoe hit open WRs through the 1st and 2nd quarter, the Cowboys have a big lead. And the entire game is different. It takes the Jaguars out of their game plan and makes them press. The Cowboys defense can play downhill, teeing off. And there is a route.

---

And even with Bledsoe's 1st half inconsistency, if he only avoids interceptions ....

---

Aside from Bledsoe, the Cowboys are not perfect.... Flozell isn't right. Glenn had penalties. The pass rush was inconsistent.

Still, you've gotta try to fix what you can. And the QB performance that we saw today needs to be addressed ...
