here is what I will say....if we paired this offense and the agressive approach of this offense...with the bend but don't break defense of a few years ago, which was #1 in the NFL by the way...we would still be 6-1. The only difference is we would not have given up as many points to the Pats and Giants as we did. I will eat crow if I am wrong...but the Pats will not look nearly as dominating against the Commanders next week. They will win..but they will not convert 3rd down after 3rd down...and they will not get behind the defense as much

Washington, at this point, arguably has a better secondary than us. Rogers/Springs are still better than Reeves, and I'd probably take those guys over Henry as well. Smoot gives them a real nice 3rd CB. The Safeties are pretty good as well.

Their pass rush is still pretty bad. London Fletcher was a real good addition to that defense. They play hard and definately are carrying that team.


TOPIC AT HAND:
I like the 3-4 in terms of it's philosophy. I thnk when it comes down to it, it's mroe the players than the scheme though. If we were in the 4-3, I think things would be pretty similar.

Id like to see the Phillips D with healthy CB's, which should allow us to let us run wild a little bit.

Healthy Ellis and improvement by Spencer should help the team. Adding Tank Johnson into the line up should help the pass rush a bit too.

Only concern I have is, our Blitzes look a bit erratic at times.

I respect and Appreciate the sweat Parcells put into rebuilding this team. Look at our 2002 roster and where we are today. Parcells is a master GM and in many ways Wade is riding that in 2007 some. Where Wade is better is empowering offense to attack.

I'll agree with that, Parcells was pretty good at adding talent, although I do feel the 2004 and 2006 drafts could have gone MUCH better. The 2005 draft was genius.

Knowing talent is knowing talent. I personally, as much as I liked Parcells, feel the game may have passed him by, in some ways.

For example, in his heyday, with no free agency, it was alot easier to assemble and maintain the talent that let his style of defense win (winning 1 on 1 matchups consistantly). Today, alot of, arguably, the top defensive coordinators are masters at scheming (Bellichek, LeBeu, Phillips, Gregg Williams)

You see it alot in college football as well. Look at a team like Michigan. 2 losses early in the season to the spread offenses (not nessecarily a new offense, but definately a hot trend in college FB). The old time, rugged, heads up ball has lost style in college. ****, LSU is running hte spread and sitting at #2. OSU is #1 and they run teh spread.

I would like to see the defense be a little more creative than it has been. The zone blitzes are what excite me about the 34 and with our lack of coverage ability, more so at the LB spot than CB, we havent been able to do it much.

I generally prefer the 43 and think we actually have better personel for that defense now, but if Wade can get imaginative with the schemes on defense and let the DC call them, this could get very fun to watch.

With all that said, I think we need a few more "athletes" at MLB. Bradie James is a stoner against the run but the guy cant blitz or cover. Ayodele is a little more versatile but not nearly as consistent.

I didn't say anything about Parcells ability to spot talent. I said I don't care if HE is happy or not. I am happy. Most fans are happy. He could be miserable thinking he made a mistake for all I care. Doesn't affect me because he's not our Head Coach any more. He could be having orgasms as he thinks about this team for all I care.
