I can't help but love everything I'm seeing from Wentz..

During a bit on NFL Network's 'Combine Primetime' tonight, Wentz demonstrates near perfect intangibles and intelligence - an obvious leader.

Can't have Golf and his 9" baby-girl hands..

I hate so much that Goff and Lynch couldn't keep their 1st and 2nd rated QB status over him.

We have the 4th pick in the draft and we can't get a QB that doesn't even play Division 1 football

Kinda amazing how people wanted us to grab this guy in the 2nd or later. Now he might go #1 if a team trades up.

Which begets the question, is what we're seeing some kind of mirage?

Aikman didn't fly up the charts. He was a clear consensus high first rounder well before Jan. 1st. So was Peyton.

Some guy become a high first rounder based on an average Senior Bowl and the underwear Olympics is a bit troubling.

He's become a high first rounder because of his skill set.

If someone like me can watch 2 games of his and immediately say he is a first rounder then these NFL guys are surely going to see it as well.

He has too many traits that even the super hyped guys don't have. He's a natural.

Media rating in season are pure garbage. You see ot every year, guys they have as top 15 picks go day 3 and day 3 players rise into the first. They usually dont get into the in depth film study until the offseason. Thats where there is money to make in views and such. Most of the in season boards are based on hype and projection.

Good point but I think the difference in a guy like Wentz is so many had never watched him play
Combine Hero is a scarey thing to me too but I think Wentz is different because playing on tv maybe one time where people were actually watching I think is a huge factor with
He has all the tools but as much as I like him he needs time to develope to me but he is big, strong arm, can run and smart
He has the tools but he is not the most ready now QB

Lol @ your post. Then someone should write down everyone's name who says he is going to be a bust. What does that prove?

Regardless, sometimes it's the team and situation a young player is put it. You can be talented but without the proper tools anyone can become a bust. Look at Romo before he had an OL. Honestly I don't see the Browns being any better than they were last season even with a rookie qb so you can go head and say whatever you want after next season whoever their rookie qb is. It's the brownies. Lol. Your point that their rookie year may not look good may be proven but it wouldn't mean a thing.

The majority of people here wanted Aaron Donald when he was still projected as a 2nd round or later talent. He shot up the boards and went before our pick. Now he's the second best defensive player in the NFL behind only possibly the best defensive player in history.

Plus you have no idea how the scouts had him rated back then. Maybe he was already at the top
Also, at that point it is likely evaluation by individual scouts, then my guess is that those same scouts watched more film and modify evaluation, likely several from the same team get together and look at film to formulate a consensus to present to the GM. All this stuff, especially regarding smaller school prospects is prob going on even now in late February

Anything from December is Very likely to change significantly over the next 2-3 months
