Trivia question, does anybody know why he trimmed his mustache like that? Without googling it.

When in basic training someone asked the Drill Sgt. why we had to trim mustache beyond the corners of the mouth and not allowed to have beards.

There were a multitude of reasons given...

Uniformity
No beards so the enemy could not grab them in hand to hand combat
No beards and trimmed mustache in order to maintain a seal on the protective mask or as civilians might call them... Gas masks.

I have heard the protective mask excuse for his mustache but I don't know of if was true or not... Maybe older masks were a little different.

I do know when using a snorkel and diving mask I could never get a good seal on my goggles with a mustache.

He supposedly was gassed in WW1 and couldn't get a good seal on his gas mask, yes.

Another interesting tidbit was he was spared by a British soldier in that war. What a different world it would have been if that soldier didn't have a heart.

Anyway, I know this isn't the site for this talk. I just saw the Hitler mustache reference and wondered if people knew the story behind it.

Very good. I knew this but did not want to demonstrate too much knowledge about Hitler. People form opinions over things like that.

Like DuDa said earlier. It's easier to catch a pass that has a little bit of wobble to it. A lot of times when the Qb tries to put a little extra on it it will have some wobble. I haven't seen Wentz or Goff throw any "ducks".

I should know what a duck looks like because I had to endure the Quincy Carter era.

Jeff George threw the prettiest passes. Aikman not so much since he did not use the laces of the ball.
