Leave it to perennial cowboys hater Ed Werder. Things are looking up and he needs to do his negative spin. Not that it's all that bad, but he just can't let go.

What ever Orton said, or meant, I believe Werder put his own un-creative spin on it.

I'm not saying that Mr. Blue Suit made this up (always a possible with him), but I just find it hilarious that he would bring up the Cowboys.

What does Orton...who is playing for Buffalo in a different conference...have to do with the Cowboys at this moment?

YR
I don't find it strange at all. You know these people make their living off the Cowboys. A player could have played 99 years with 3 different teams and played one year with the Cowboys ... get in trouble and the headline will read: Former Cowboy yadda yadda yadda.

ROFL. Orton rates somewhere below Dan Bailey on the "power" scale.
He was a high paid clipboard holder.

Hope he gets to enjoy that Buffalo winter weather.

I hope his groin freezes and breaks into little tiny pieces. You know that's the new black this year.

What gives, I thought Orton's spot on the sideline offered a pretty good view of the field. He watched all 16 games (playing in 1) and came to the conclusion the team had offensive issues?

Honestly guys, I don't know that Orton is wrong here. I think it's clear that in the recent past, Tony has had a lot of control over what is being called and when. It would appear that this has changed, at least in the early going, to an extent this season. I know that if I'm a player on a team and I believe that we could win if we just did X, and we never embraced that, I would be really pissed about it as well and it wouldn't take long to tire of it. I mean think about it, is it really all that hard to identify with?

To be fair, we could have won against the Eagles and made the playoffs if Orton had embraced throwing that last pass to Austin instead of straight to Boykin. :)

"Hated offensive power struggle" is pretty vague, but whatever it was, it is puzzling why the backup QB would "hate" whatever management was doing enough to want to leave. Right now, though, it is pretty much irrelevant. The dust has settled and the offensive brain-trust is in place and the offense is clicking along real good.

The sad thing about this is Werder just mentions the Cowboys and his plan works. I'm no Weeden fan but Orton is on the Cowboys all time jerk totem pole. Glad to see him get killed behind the Bills line.

That being said, he did sign for 11 million. Back up QB is a license to steal money in the NFL.

If he didnt suck, someone might have listened.

Has Kyle Orton had a good relationship with any team that he's been on? They hated him in Chicago, I understand why he was mad he got benched for Tebow(LOL), but he burned bridges in Denver too. Now, he hated Dallas. I dont know, there seems to be a pattern here.

Tebow actually outplayed him. I watched every one of their games that year. Orton was awful.

To be fair, we could have won the division and made the playoffs if Romo and the coaching staff had adopted the running game as opposed to throwing the ball 50 times a game too. It's hard to fault the backup QB for me. There were plenty of decision that are not on Orton, as to why we missed the playoffs that year IMO.

Notice how Weirder blasts the controversial headline then as soon as someone challenges him he throws up his hands and backs off. What a punk.

As for Orton, who cares what he thinks? He couldn't carry Romo's jock not only in talent but in heart and work ethic.

lol...who gives a rip about Kyle Orton? They'll find out in Buffalo he's not that good too when he turns into an INT machine.

Still doesn't make any sense, Mr. Blue Suit (most of your stories have flawed logic anyway).

Why is Orton in Buffalo 'justified?'

Sounds like he didn't want to go thru training camp (happens all of the time with veterans) and found a team in Buffalo where he didn't have to go thru TC and would get paid.

If anything, I guess I'm having to stick up for Orton now. But that's what happens when you are dealing with a 'reporter' that has a long history of being woefully inaccurate and never held accountable by his bosses for it.

YR

It's not even about being held accountable! This is probably his bosses' desire!

Well, this is an interesting take. Think about it now, the guy that we listen to now, our HC, was a backup QB as well here in Dallas. He sucked too much to be the starter. Honestly, the talent level of Orton, or really anybody, is not relevant. There are plenty of guys on this very board who have been correct about certain things about the Cowboys and none of them will ever be talented enough to play in the NFL. Talent has nothing at all to do with it.

Who cares. I was not a fan of Orton while he was a Cowboy. Limited arm strength and mobility and oh yeah threw a pick on the 1st play of what could have been a game winning drive. Good riddance, good luck in sucky Buffalo.
Yeah, he could never hope to match Romo.

Hahhahahahhahahaaaa. Orton wanted to get paid. Plain and simple.

Yes, his agent convinced him that he could make more money with another team. His base salary with the Cowboys was scheduled to be 3.25M. He signed a 2-year, 11M contract with Buffalo and got to keep all bonus money that the Cowboys had paid him.

Orton displayed his true colors for all to see when he screwed the Cowboys over using a phony excuse to do so. He had no more intention of retiring than the man in the moon. Blatant dishonesty makes it's own revelation. His dislike for Romo strikes me as jealousy, pure and simple. He probably fell for all the negative conjecture about Romo being inadequate and decided it was his big opportunity to replace him.

When that didn't work out, the jealousy kicked in. Perhaps all the BS about the "power struggle" was nothing more than a flimsy excuse for his dissatisfaction with being stuck in Dallas as a backup. At any rate he's gone and thank God for that. Here's hoping he finds his Valhalla in Buffalo but somehow, I'm doubting that'll be the case. Don't be surprised if the Bills opt out of that contract at the earliest opportunity. That'd serve him right.
