I imagine at some point the titans will understand they have no leverage and jerry is not going to cave and on the friday or saturday of the draft he will be sent to us for a 4 this year.

(hopefully he stays in Tenn.)

Yhea, that's probably the most likely scenario.

Owner = Bud Adams.

This is the same guy who couldn't keep the Oilers in Houston, the largest city is a football hungry state. The same guy whose team has had serious cap problems for years and when they get well under the cap this year, they don't spend any money in FA. The same owner whose team refused to let Steve McNair work out despite his long time service to the team. The same owner who drafted Vince Young because he was from Houston and wanted to spite Houston fans. The same owner who also allowed Pacman to be drafted in the first place.

Any more questions?

The Titans are insane to think they have leverage over us, maybe the NFL should drug test that organization.

This is almost like looking at a car for $100. When the owner finds out you'll pay $100, he starts raising the price to see how far you'll go.

I wanted Jones here at a fair price. A price worth the risk of him either never seeing the field again or making a hasty exit into the Halls of Justice. But this is just plain silly.

I'd combine the 4th round pick and the 5th round pick and give them a 9th round pick!

I gotta ask, what the hell is the Titans problem?

Something that should have been wrapped up in two hours is taking FOREVER.

Nuff said.

There was a house I was looking to buy. It was a 3 bedroom and 1 bath, no A/C, and definitely needed to be fixed up. So I thought, well, if they drop the price down, maybe I'll take another look. Well, a few weeks later, I drove by, and they moved the price up! That is how I feel the Titans are being with Pacman. Hey, we got this guy who needs a lot of work, how about a fourth round pick for him? Oh, is that too much for you? How about a fourth this year and a fourth next year? Too much again? How about two fourth round picks, and money? I can't believe that is too much for you!

I'm starting to think what the Titans really want is an excuse to let him play for them.

"Hey, we tried to trade you, you weren't worth much. Might as well suit up, see you at camp."

They probably also feel jilted that Pacman is basically in love with the Cowboys, and showed almost no interest in returning to that team.

i could see that if it weren't for the fact that they aren't paying him monies owed and are asking for signing bonus money back.

And another thing how could you expect Jones to respect the coaching staff after the HC was on record saying that he needed to find a new place to play.

No that bridge is burned. We know it, they know it, but they just don't want to admit it right now.

I don't expect this deal to be done before the draft and maybe not until Pacman is reinstated. They will wait until the last possible moment just like they did with McNair.

Can we get a ban on Pacman threads? Can we just do one thread and put all the Pacman stuff in there, cause I agree, this is getting ridiculous.

Then again, it's the off season, not much else going on is there?

Titans are really looking bad here.

First they say they don't want anything to do with him and he is free to seek trades.

Then they keep upping the asking price.

Then they ask for money back.

Then they say maybe we'll just keep him.

They'll never amount to anything of significance. I would just walk away from this deal - the talent of Pacman is tantalizing but the baggage he carries is not and I would not want to have to depend on him heavily. We should probably just make alternative arrangements for CBs in the draft. 2 in the first 2 rounds sounds good to me. The other pick could be used on the best RB or WR available at that slot.

Well what else are they doing?? They're stalling for more interest. I think the real reason is they don't want Pac to come here and be contending for a superbowl, and be on the big stage with us. It is kind of like a reward for him to play for Da'Boys!
Did i not call this almost 2 weeks ago?the Titans were using Jerry and the cowboys. trying to get other teams to give more for Pacman. dont do it Jerry.

the Titans took him sixth overall in 2005 and agreed to guarantee base salaries of more than $1.2 million for the upcoming season, $1.7 million in 2009 and in excess of $2 million in the final year. The Titans will be responsible for those amounts if Jones is released or kept on the Titans roster. Trading Jones and his contract to another team is the only way to avoid it.
This is the reason the titans need Dallas to make the trade, its better than paying his whole contract and taking the cap hit by releasing him.

If all ridiculous threads were put together there would be 3 threads on the boards:D

I've been saying the same thing for some time now. Fisher is in a bind and doesn't know how to get out of it.

I would think the Titans GM, Mike Reinfeldt, would have as much to do with it, or more, than Fisher.
