We're looking unlucky so far in this great D draft

This is my point. We are not drafting redshirt guys this year. So injuries to Jones, Moreau, Takk and Conley's accusation hurt us. Means they other CBs and DEs will not make it to us at 28 because these 4 would've gone above us.

That fair enough but I think id qualify that by saying we wont be drafting redshirt guys early. So who knows if one of these type players slips far enough maybe we pounce. All said Id rather have everyone healthy and model citizens though.

Some people cried on draft day when there was a run on OL and Cooper and Warmack were taken sooner than expected. It was all doom and gloom and the front office further torqued those crying people off by passing on DL Sharif, getting absolutely robbed (supposedly) in a trade down with SF, and taking some guy the crybabies never heard of. Well, say hello to the best player in that draft, Frederick. Funny how things work out sometimes.

No need to get fancy or panic in this draft. Just follow your board for the most part, and your gut sometimes.

It is funny how alot (me) of the draft pundits get fixated on thier draft magazines and then cant believe how we often pass on more well known guys and end up with lesser known, BETTER players. Philly and NY seem to be dialed into the magazines and more often than not those hyped players flop.

Nah, OP, luck is what you make of it.........if our scouts and Stephen and Will are on their game we'll have another nice draft.

This supposed really strong defensive draft is getting diluted day-by-day... Sidney Jones, Fabian Moreau, Takk McKinley, Caleb Brantley, Reuben Foster, Jabril Peppers, Gareon Conley. Why couldn't it be offensive players getting hurt and doing stupid things?

The team absolutely has to do their homework right now.

These diluted samples and legal accusations need to be really looked at because we could end up with a guy that we would normally have no business drafting.

You can't just pass on players because they're accused of something.

We got Lael Collins because of the guilty until proven innocent mentality and we need to strike again if the opportunity presents itself.

That was most definitely me lol. I just got a notification on my fb saying on this day 4 years ago and I had posted a pick of warmark saying hope this guy falls to 18

It'll be okay. Just like always QB's, WR's, and TE's will go off the board way earlier then originally projected.

I am not opposed to drafting the injured CB, Jones I think, in the 2nd round.

Even if it were offensive guys dropping it would still hurt us.

That is a theoretical viewpoint though.

Most teams have GMs that are drafting for their jobs. Drafting and stashing a player for a year is a luxury. Either you have time and a patient owner and some winning season collateral behind you to shield you from criticism or you simply have a surplus of picks where burning one on a dud is not going to be graded as harshly.

There are a select number of teams that really can be that open to thinking about it like that. Dallas is one of them because the GM isn't getting fired, which is a good and a bad thing at the same time. There are others like Cleveland or Tennessee who collect picks like bubble gum cards.

Good thing we have stability at GM

I think no red shirt is more if a 1st round issue.

IF any of those injured players fall to the Cowboys 3rd round pick, it's a done deal, IMO.
