People forget Roger Staubach came from behind many times. Why? because he and the team were not playing good which is why they were behind in the 1st place. Dallas made mistakes yesterday no question about it but they kept fighting and they made some big plays when they needed to be made both on offense and defense.

Fair enough......it certainly was not perfect QB play and part of the deficit was directly due to Bledsoe. What I really liked was his leadership. He seems to have his O-line motivated to pass block. He is showing confidence that he can get the job done. Other players are responding to that. When the chips were down on Sunday he made the plays.

More worried about the growing pains on D. I hate to say it....but expect the same type of game vs Oakland.

I think we win a shootout.

This I agree with 100%...

The way I see it, the Raiders have played 3 of the top 5 teams in the NFL so far, and they've hung with all 3, having a chance to win against all 3. Quote
yeah and Carolina beat NE and loses to Miami. So Miami must be better than NE right? riiiiiiiiiiiiight. Bad teams often consistently lose close games. I remember Arizona taking NE late into the 4th last year. What did it mean? Nothing. Maybe that Arizona has 22 NFL level players but nothing more.
With parity the way it is every team has the talent to beat any other team and each game takes on a life of its own. Some teams don't match up well with others or a few key penalties or big plays can change a game. I don't think you can put too much stock in margin of victory these days. Lots of good teams often win a bunch of close games. What does Oakland barely losing 3 games to very good teams? It means that Oakland is 0-3. Are they dangerous? Sure. Every NFL team is dangerous if you make mistakes or don't make key plays. Even the 69ers showed that they can be dangerous if you give them enough chances to win, and they're definitely down in the NFL cellar. Heck, they currently have the same record as Minnesota, Carolina, and San Diego, teams everyone expects a big year for.

This is our 3rd game away from home, and we're playing a team in desparation mode. Add on to that the fact that they have the one player in the league that owns us the most, in Randy Moss. They also thrive on the deep ball, which is our kryptonite thus far.

Well we're bound to continue to get better also. Maybe Pile nails down our secondary....maybe Henry has a game like he did against SD...I don't think our rookies know that they're not supposed to win so many road games...currently, we're proving to be better on the road than at home.
Maybe our away fans our louder?

I hope we jam Moss early and often and cover Porter out in the flats.

Really the point I was trying to make was that Drew did not let those mistakes influence him he kept coming right back each time. He is going to have bad plays thats football and you can't let bad plays get to you, you move to the next and Bledsoe is doing just that. I could not ask more from him at this stage. I think so many want to focus and disect every single thing but that is football and not to often do teams and players go out and have perfect games it is what you do in that 60 min. and how you overcome your mistakes.

Doom,

Glad to hear you aren't one of many calling for Bledsoe's head after 1 bad play.
He's exceeded my expectations and been a solid to good acquisition.

Oakland's pass rush is nonexistant. Did you see the game against the eagles? They got no pressure without blitzing. McNabb could barely move and half his thows were uncharacteristically off target and Akers was playing on one leg and Oakland still couldn't take advantage. Collins hasn't been doing a good job of getting the ball to Moss this season, he keeps on trying to force it to Porter. Lamont Jordan has looked like a bust so far (granted it's been against some good defenses). If we can shut him down, then I think our nickel defense can slow them down enough to give us a good chance. I especially like our chances if we can get a lead and ram it down their throats with JJ and keep their offense off the field

I think we need to adjust our game plan early. We are very predictable early in games.

I want us to come out and throw throw throw.........then once we have a bit of a lead, use JJ to control the clock and mix things up more. Makes their O more predictable and allows us to blitz the heck out of Collins.

Moss gets at least 150 rec. yards and 2 TD' but can they stop us? We have a lot of Offensive talent don' forget. I think this can go either way.

I am not saying anything I thought we would blow out SF. There is no telling what will happen but my heart can't take much more of this.

I sir, am in the same exact boat as you on this. I felt sure we'd put a serious hurting on SF. My blood pressure must've gone thru the roof when Lloyd grabbed his 2nd td in the 3rd qtr.

Prediction:

DeMarcus Ware shows up in this game.

If this game were in Dallas, I'd be a lot more confident. But based on what I saw yesterday in SF, if our pass defense plays like that we will get torched by Moss & Co. The Raiders are a desperate team at 0-3. If they lose this game their season is pretty much over. They will pull out all the stops. Don't underestimate the presence of Lamont Jordan here either. He is capable of ripping off some big runs and we let both Barlow and Gore have healthy yards per carry averages yesterday so Jordan can be a factor. Having said that, the Raiders are a very undisciplined team. Too many bad penalties and a very inconsistent kicker have been a major problem for them so far. Bledsoe has proven he can move this team when he has to. I think we will score enough to stay with them but I just think they are more desperate and that we can't correct these secondary breakdowns enough in one week to win this game. I hope I'm wrong but I saw nothing yesterday to make me think we can stop their passing game. On the flip side, 2-2 with 3 of the first 4 on the road and all on the west coast is not terrible. I just don't see the Eagles running away and hiding this year and we can play with the NYG and WAS.

How about this, Get ahead early, say we give up few good plays to Moss over the stretch, stuff Lamont Jordan, sack/intercept Collins. Throw for a touchdown, and make Julius run for a couple TDs too. Make them settle for 3 when they should have 7 and beat them with time of possession. If we can just keep Pile in coverage and protecting the long ball, we have a chance.

Just talked to a few Boys' fans and I was shocked to see how many feel we SHOULD win the game ....All expect BP to outcoach Norv.
Maybe we can?

I just want to say I am dissapointed no I am kinda of shocked to see some of you memebers just bow down like a couple of I dont have to say it you already no it. We have the players 2 play just as aggresive as them, and no they may not be a Randy Moss but they dont have to be all they have to do is play smart and work hard for every drive just play smart football baby.

the raiders are barely losing to superbowl caliber teams and we barely beat the worst team in the nfl.. yea i think it'd be safe to say we aren't going to win.
