Were the Refs ''Influenced'' by Underworld?

The one missed call that really got under my skin was the no call on GB's magic 3rd challenge flag it basically gave them another time out and throw off the rythm we were getting into. That should have been a flag I've seen other coaches get that penalty yet they let GB slide on it not to mention how poorly it reflects on the refs that they can't even do something as simple as keep track of how many challenges a team has called.

The fumbles or non fumbles annoyed me.

As to roy if you notice he came out later in the game without a visor on and was playing decently I think on that one big pass he dropped he was getting some glare off that visor cause it was pretty much the next possession he no longer had a visor on his helmet. Granted no excuse for dropping an easy catch but it looked like it was a factor in it.

I don't know if these particular refs were crooked or just incompetent, but it's naïve to think there is no shady stuff going on with refs in the NFL. Someday it will get exposed, I have little doubt about it.

1. The Scandrick fumble recovery wiped out because of a slight push by Mike jenkins. Wade phillips said they haven't been calling that all year but this game it happen once to Jenkins and once to scandrick. Scandrick's converted a third down for the packers.
Did the ref wait till after the fumble recovery to throw the flag? Nope. So much for your underworld BS.

The NBA was exposed. Its not impossible that it has happened in the NFL and other sports as well.

I used to be a HUGE NBA fan, I even met my wife through the Dallas Mavericks/NBA. She is still a big fan, but I gave up and refuse to pay any attention to it anymore. That is the most dirty underhandedly ran sports league on the planet.

That game was one of the worst displays of "home cooking" I have seen in a long time. The last game I saw that was officiated this one-sided was the Pitt vs. Sea SuperBowl that was gifted wrapped for the Rooneys.

Seriously, it was that blatant.

The NFL does not want to be seen in the same light as Major League Baseball where the teams that spend the most win the most.
I think this may have something to do with the fortuitous officiating both these small market teams get.

I watch every Steelers game here in Steeler country and it is so obvious that the refs give them every close. Most of their opponents have to use two challenges before halftime. Someone told me this week that the Steelers have not challenged a call since the 1st of November last year. I know in our game against them last year there were so many calls in their favor that we had used all our challenges up so in the fourth quarter we couldn't challenge two bad calls on the Steelers game tying drive.

People can say all they want about the officials not causing a team to lose, but when you are playing a game where momentum plays such an important part it can and does change momentum which is always so important in the outcome of most NFL games. Keep in mind that the experts are always saying that the talent level in the NFL is so close that it is usually comes down to just a couple of plays in the game that determines the winner.

I think it really was just that both offenses played very poorly - and so the team that benefitted from the most gifts took the game. The refs were awful, and maybe if they were awful in the other direction - we win. But I don't see "corruption" in the stars.

Wow. Conspiracy theories? Really?

If a ref was going to try to affect a game, do you really think he would do it with two teams that have the most fans in the NFL? A game that probably was a top 20 game this year in television ratings?

Don't you think that maybe if the refs were going to throw a game, they'd do it against the bills vs titans or some game like that? Or do you think they'd try to rig a game that the majority of football fans are going to watch?

When the mob tries to fix a basketball game do they do it when its Duke vs North Carolina, or do they do it against Southern Appalachian state vs Northern Idaho?

Use your head.

Was the game poorly officiated? Yep. Are there alot of poorly officiated games? Yep.

But until you get it through your head that we had a dozen penalties, and 3 turnovers, you will continue to live in "Wade's World". A world that doesn't take responsibility for your own actions.

When this team cleans up the sloppiness, then they will be a contender. If they keep passing the buck and not taking responsibility for their actions, they will continue to be a pretender.

Given the fact GB had quite a few flags at them I highly doubt the refs were paid off. Did the refs have something to do with the poor blocking by Dallas that could explain Romo getting sacked 5 time and being hit 13 times.

well get aload of this; how much refs are paid while blowing calls; and refs wanted more money;

and their not full time salaries as you probably know, the refs are part time

The NFL is offering an official entering his fifth season $62,103 in 2001, compared to the $42,295 he would have made last year as a fourth-year official for regular-season and preseason games plus various meetings and clinics. In 2003, he would earn $84,470.

The union, meanwhile is asking that a fifth-year official be paid $95,000 per season starting this year, an increase of 50 percent.

For senior officials, the difference is greater. The NFL is offering officials with 20 or more years of experience $120,998 this year. The union is asking $210,000, a 75 percent different.

The two sides are also using the other major sports for comparison. The three others use full-time officials and the NFL's are part-time, although by Condon's figures they work an average of 1,200 hours a year.

So the union noted that even if its offer is accepted, NFL officials would be the lowest paid on an annual basis. The NFL responded with a chart showing that per-game compensation in its 16-game season is double and triple the other leagues' at the 20-year level.

"We reviewed their offer and thought their offer was inappropriate and didn't address the contribution that the officials make to the game," Condon said Tuesday morning. "They thought our offer was excessive and asked for too much."

Underworld or underwear?

Maybe the refs were bribed by Victoria Secret models.

And no, I'm not saying this just so someone will post photos of said models.

Momentum plays a big part of the game and those bad calls killed our momentum more than once, it was a huge part of the loss..

Dirty zebras..

Well, it would be an automatic first down for GB no matter what.. Overturning a fumble recovery was just icing on the cake.

Am I the only one to notice that Packers OL was holding all game along. Everytime they showed a reply of Rogers completing a pass, you can see Packers OL were holding Ware and/or Ratiliff.

F Jones's fumble is huge. Refs basically gift-wrapped seven points to packers and made it a three-possession game.

what also bothered me was anytime Roger's or Driver begged for a flag they usually got it. No matter how late it came in.

Oh boy, conspiracy theories!

3.The overturning of the Matt mcbriar caused fumble , was that really conclusive?

Yes, it was obvious and conclusive.

5.Offensive Pass Interfence wiping out tashard choice's first down on the pakcers 35. They called it a pick play on witten and crayton, but the guy covering choice wasn't pick at all. It was an awful call.

Obvious pick.

6.Felix Jones recovery of Romo fumble is never reviewed? I know they say there's a rule for pile up's etc but this wasn't even close to that.

So you know that the rules say they can't review fumble recoveries and you're complaining that they followed the rules?

The Nfl in the least need's to hold these ref's accountable for some of these missed calls. They called an awful game, and influenced the outcome by there mistakes.

This part is true. The refs are awful. Part of it is the fact that the NFL won't pony up for full-time refs. Part of it is that the rulebook is much much too complicated. Part of it is that the refs just stink.
