Not reading through this thread yet.

I originally watched the first episode last season and for whatever reason I did not care for it So I never watched beyond that first one.

However recently I seen the advert where they are showing the japanese scene with the shogun and possible samurai and those topics are a big interest to me (shogun is my favorite book and the movie was close to the tops of my movies). So now I started the first season so I can get to the shogun part in the second season and so I will not miss out on any back stuff.

Up to about episode 8 in first season so only a couple more to go until I can start the second season.

Not sure why I did not like the first episode originally...this time I thought it was ok and the series has gotten better...so glad I am starting it now.

More than slightly off-topic

Evan Rachel Wood was on the Late Late Show with James Cordan promoting Westworld a few weeks ago. Cordan asked Wood what were the chances of a photo shoot from years ago that included her and teen stars of that time (see the magazine cover below) being recreated. I thought her response was kinda funny. The Cordan interview is posted below also.

I have only stopped and watched a single full episode. However, I believe the show is well-written and directed. The cast speaks for itself. The show has not hooked me yet but that has more to do with how I devote my free time. I fully expect to catch up with the show one day, hopefully soon.

You may or may not like it. I guess a lot of people actually don’t. I love the whole premise of it and landscape. For me? It’s the fictional world,where one can be anyone they want,regardless of past and start over. See,I want to live on a backlot myself (both WB and Universal turned down my letter of request..as per usual)...and I love old Mexico and all that Wiley E.Coyote look.

Futureworld ...oh that was garbage. Very disappointing. Bailed on that fast. Yes,the show takes Westworld and expands way more into things than the movie.

I think it’s because (other than the show being over from the start) they want to keep the operation going. Turning humans into AI. But then,just when I think I have it figured it out...you get a frying pan knocked over your head. “Whoa...so that guy...is that guy?” type of scenarios. I just go along with it now...
