WFAA Blog: Dale Hansen: Bored and Robbed in San Antonio

Never leave your wallet in your car overnight. That's really stupid.

i was robbed of my time reading his thoughts about camp.

Hey, nobody put a gun to your head. Or did they? :D

Correct. A car is "burglarized," though the term "burglary" in the past referred only to buildings.

Cop or lawyer? No one else would know this distinction.

That's probably right if only cops or lawyers have ever watched a TV show about cops, or seen the TV show Cops, or watched any documentary on police work before, then I don't imagine anyone outside of that would know this distinction.

As for the articles this is meh. I see it as sort of a tip of hat to them not having loads of distractions this year without actually having to come out and say it and give Jerry and Company any credit for making some smart roster moves this offseason.

I guess that's true. I don't really like those shows, so I've never watched them.

But then all I watch are "cop" shows.

A forum monitor that watches "cop" shows. Why am I not surprised?......:p:

I really liked these two blog articles form Hansen for some reason. I can't put my finger on why. Maybe it's the Boy Scout bent of the team not out partying? I don't know. I know I enjoyed his comments about the sunglasses and Rod Stewart CD immensely.

A journalist would, especially one who has to peruse the police blotters. :(

Automobile burglaries are still "popular" forms of crime.

My knee is feeling rather good lately actually. I appreciate your concern for my health though.

How is that nasty rash of yours? You'll learn not to mess around on farms.

What a ridiculous article. The guy is complaining that the players and coaches are essentially not partying and therefore focused on football. If they were partying, he'd be writing about how they are not focused on football.

He's complaining that it's boring because there's no drama. Why isn't he writing an article applauding the Cowboys for getting rid of distractions? If the players were hitting and we had tons of ACL injuries like Eagle's camp he'd be writing about how camp was too tough...these guys! Seriously...

Who in their right mind leaves things like a billfold in plain view? People will break into your car if you have a GPS mount showing just because there might be a GPS in your car.

Beautiful post. Just to think, people actually stick up for bafoons like Hansen. If anybody told me that they stick money in plain view of a car, gets robbed, and then says they'll continue to do that, well...that's all I need to know about that person.

Yet, he writes about the Cowboys.

The common parlance would be "I wuss robbed," even if I were "only" burgled.

If manslaughter was my fate, my friends and family might refer to the event as murder-- even at the risk of violating legal terminology.

Yes, doesn't excuse the ignorance from a reporter though. :(
