Do we know that they will not be getting more time on the jugs machine? All we do know is they were called out during practice

I'm not completely sure they even use the JUGS machine with the defensive secondary.

Say what you want about Newman, but he is horrible at getting picks. He has always been this way, and while is a great cover corner, he needs to make plays. He doesnt do this, and that better improve in 2009.

Remember the game against Denver in 05? If he catches the pass that hits him right in the hands, we win. But nope.

He really needs to improve on this. I'm willing to give Scandrick a pass because he's young, but Newman has had horrible hands his entire career. If he could've caught a cold, he would've be considered the best corner in the game before he started getting hurt.

Forget the punishment aspect. What I'd rather see is the secondary saying we need to improve our ability to catch an interception. We need to stay after practice to work on our ability to catch.

I want to see them wanting to improve themselves.

he had 4 ints in just 10 games last year...

Through 6 seasons he has 20 ints, Champ Bailey had 21 in 6 seasons. Nnamdi Asomugha has 10 (half as many) in 6 seasons. Clements had 23 through 6 seasons, and Samuel has 26. Charles Woodson has 15 through 6 years

So he is one off Bailey's pace. Has twice as many over the same span as Asomugha, 3 less than Clements. Samuel has just been a freak, he has more than Deion had in 6 years.

Newman could have way more int's. But to say he is horrible at that is just wrong. He is right up there with the rest of the leagues best in the same span.

They have in the past but regardless if it is the jugs machine, coaches or QB's throwing the ball in these drills makes no difference and I have no doubt they will continue to get their work in. As for the punishment of a little on the field embarrassment in front of peers it does not bother me I just find it strange that people whine about no discipline then because they don't like the form of discipline they get their panties in a wad.

Newman had a pick in that game. maybe if Bledsoe didn't giftwrap a pick6 for bailey in that game we would've won or if we could defend long runs at the end of games which we still can't do.
