Only one problem - all the QB’s making this $$ were in the playoffs.
@Chuck 54 you are worried about the Dak haters? You should be worried about the brainwashed ‘church of Dak’ worshippers. Who will they blame after another loss? Jerry. The Jerry-haters will be out in full force after a loss pinning the blame solely on Jerry and neglecting the overpaid under performers on the field.
Mods should look at the use of the term "haters".
There are many people on this forum who don't hate Dak - in fact many think he's a nice guy - but who do not think he is a good enough QB to be an elite starter in the NFL. By in large, these people come from a position of being a Cowboys fan rather than a fan of an individual star/celeb player. And it is fully acknowledged that there are also many Cowboys fans who think Dak is a franchise QB.
Those who are Cowboys fans will support the team through good and bad regardless of who the players are. They follow the team, not individuals. I'm not sure the same could be said about the individual player fans on this forum - would they have been Cowboys fans in 2021 if Dak was playing elsewhere? hmmm.
Was Romo elite (he was to me even with his int flaws)? If posters here say he was but change the same standard for Dak, then imo it is an obvious hate bias towards Dak. Risen, Catch, etc., have hated Dak since day 1 before he played a game.
I have no problem accepting the Dak signing. In fact, I fully expected it. It is another typical Jones move. I accept that it is the dumbest move in my 50+ years of fandom. This will provide me with plenty of free time during the playoffs and Super Bowl to do other things because the Cowboys will not be involved as usual, but in all honesty, this is not the Cowboys that so many of us grew up being fans of. The Cowboys have become the worst version of the Raiders when Al Davis was at his worst.Everyone has a right to his opinion, and this is a public forum, but is there any chance the so-called “haters,” mostly just people with low opinions of Dak as a QB, can now accept the signing and reality that Dak is the QB for a few years at least, and whether they are right or wrong about his future performance, at least root for him and let the rest of us enjoy wins without pointing out every flawed throw or decision?
I mean the past two seasons have really not been fun after wins in this forum.
Any chance some of you valued and excellent posters can save most of the negativity towards our QB for the losses? Let it flow after losses, and we will argue how much of the blame Dak deserves. All I ask is at least when OUR team wins a game, even if we go 1-15, try to let the rest of us enjoy that win until the next loss. I’m not saying your analysis isn’t valuable and even correct, but it’s a long season, and wins are hard to come by in the NFL. Let’s try to enjoy the wins and burn the whole place down after losses.
There are many Cowboys fans on this forum who didn't agree with Romo's large contract extension (me being one of them - I thought he was too banged up) and who don't think Dak is a 40m per year elite franchise QB.
As someone who's been around longer than many fans - I think this is a trend in modern sports. In the past, people supported teams forever full stop. Now we have people who support individual star players and who can be quite fluid re: their team allegiances. They can also be very touchy over any criticism of their individual star player - hence the "hate" language, which has no place on a sports team forum where fans are having a bit of banter.
I am one of them. I didn’t like Dak in college or high school either as a starting QB.Nothing will change. Hate is all the Dak haters have shown since dsy 1.

Why even make this argument when we haven't even sniffed a SB?Some people are more interested in being right than they are about the status of the team. They have an agenda and nothing is ever going to change their minds. Even if the Cowboys win a Super Bowl; they'll argue another QB could have done it sooner.
The Cowboys have just insured themselves security at the most difficult position to fill in all of professional sports for at least the next four seasons. This is a happy day for most Dallas fans. So I'm not letting the haters ruin it for me.
The deal is done. We fans have no choice to accept. I didn't think it made sense whatsoever but I don't have any personal issue with Dak. I didn't think Dak could overcome the shortcomings of this team and carry them to extra wins. He is a good qb, period. Never will be elite and the Cowboys paid him as he is top3 guy. There is the rub and now we will live with it.Everyone has a right to his opinion, and this is a public forum, but is there any chance the so-called “haters,” mostly just people with low opinions of Dak as a QB, can now accept the signing and reality that Dak is the QB for a few years at least, and whether they are right or wrong about his future performance, at least root for him and let the rest of us enjoy wins without pointing out every flawed throw or decision?
