What 5 OL will start in Jacksonville?

With all the man love Parcells is giving Proctor lately, do you think he could eventually supplant Kosier at LG this season...maybe even by opening day?

Is Gurode finally going to make the transition to center and make Al Johnson another wasted draft pick?

Is Pettiti still our starter RT or is Colombo giving Parcells second thoughts with his size and run blocking?

Is Fabini just a glorified backup at this point or will he make enough noise to start RT in time for the opener?

With Adams still limping around with nagging injuries, will McQuistan become this year's Torrin Tucker at LT?


Simply put, there's just too many questions for this OL right now and that's bad news.

This is a good question that also puts things into perspective. Not knowing who you're starting 5 on the line is going to be 2 weeks before the season's start is a bad place to be.

This is my guess at the starting 5 week 1 but I'm afraid it will be shuffled a number of times this season.

Fabini won't start based on what I've seen from the NO game. He was horrible. On consecutive plays he got blown up. Whiffed on a pass play that connected to Glenn and then got pushed back to kill a run play to his side. Columbo or Pettite. I like what I've seen from Columbo.

I find it interesting and a little amusing, that no one thinks Johnson has a chance of beating Gurode now.

Sure wasn't the consensus last year on this board.


I like this lineup...

Adams...Pro bowler when 100%
Kosier...experience gives him the nod for now
Gurode...more physical and a better anchor than Johnson
Rivera...Pro bowler when 100%
Pettiti...why stop progress?

Colombo, McQuistan, Proctor and Johnson should be the backups this season. Unless he starts pancaking people left and right, Fabini might not make the 53 man roster. Dennis Roland or Matt Tarullo could make the PS.

I think Kosier is no more than average (at least what we've seen so far) but if Petitti is the RT I'd be alot more worried about that position than LG...

that said, Petitti isnt starting on this team unless some others get hurt, there's a reason he's buried behind others on the depth chart...I also wont be surprised if our starting RT for the majority of this season is somebody thats not on the roster today

Yeah, I still do. Parcells has done a lot to see what each guy can do. I think in the long run he'll stick with him there once the season gets under way.
