It's still early j day, id expect 3 more at leastWe needed yet another thread complaining about the lack of activity on day 1?
They watch as serviceable players run out the door, deemed to be too expensive and they fill those spots with worse and cheaper players.Groundhog Day every year
Same architects mediocre effort made.
Mediocre results achieved on the football field.
Maximum profit compiled in the bank.
Did I say that ? However, the expectation was, with the early restructured contracts, that we'd come out of the traps and spend.....otherwise why do it.So you think the Cowboys will sign no one?
Of course they will.
I think his point was obvious. Why create all this space (and maybe more with a Parsons extension) and then just nickel and dime your way through FA again. So you think the Cowboys will sign no one?

It's no different than previous years. They truly think the draft will save them every year. And it doesn't because not even the greatest drafting teams could hit on enough players in one draft to immediately make us better.Listening to analysis this morning ut does scare me that we may be heading into the season with a RBBC like last season and no real #2 WR. Yes there is draft but this seems to mean toward “like our guys” If they sign Rico are you happy with he and the RB signing? These are the questions I have. That leaves the draft to fill a lot
It's a JERRY WAY OF THINKING...in his mind he's PAYING Diggs, he's going to pay Bland, he's NEVER going with a position group with 3 high paid players. It does mean something - it means that they are very thin at a position where they are now going to have to put more resources - sounds like they were caught off guard with Lewis leaving unfortunately...that is going to force them to spend draft capital or make a fa move they had not planned on
lolSorry brother I can't read that.
Paragraphs are taught at age 6 for a reason.
1st off...edit that down! TLDR.Sorry brother I can't read that.

This is a big part of what makes zero sense about this front office’s approach in 2024, and appears in early returns in 2025 in the form of a few questions:Yep, and you could add the perplexing strategy (if indeed there is one):
- 2024 season - where he had the ideal opportunity to either: All-In (a last hurrah behind the re-signing of Tyron, Pollard, Gilmore, Hankins + FA spending), OR tear-it-down and trade: Osa, Martin, J-Lew, D-Law. Let Dak play out the last year of contract.....as there was no other QB that was going to up the top market value.
- why create $50m CAP space in 2025.....for no apparent purpose?
There arent many Day 2+ signings that are going to equate to $10m hits on the 2025..... and in any case, he could of restructured existing contracts AFTER the FA signing.
I suspect he restructured the $50m to hoodwink the fanbase into thinking he was going to spend.
Jerry'll hope that teams will hold out on Rico, waiting to see what happens in the strong draft class....price for Rico comes down and we sign him on the cheap (if Jeanty doesn't fall).Listening to analysis this morning it does scare me that we may be heading into the season with a RBBC like last season and no real #2 WR. Yes there is draft but this seems to lean toward “like our guys” If they sign Rico are you happy with he and the RB signing? These are the questions I have. That leaves the draft to fill a lot
Agreed. Probably Dallas’ best slot defender and a leader in the defense; left with Bland and Diggs coming off injury…secondary took a step backwards with the loss.Losing Lewis was a major unexpected loss…we have 1 healthy starting cb as of today and are in a very bad spot overall

- If you are rebuilding your roster, why would you sign a 31 year old gimpy QB who has two wild card wins in 9 seasons to a ridiculously giant contract? Then do nothing to support that QB with weapons. Makes zero sense.(If you are rebuilding, you don’t sign Dak, maybe not Cedee as well)
- On the other hand, if you are not rebuilding and you think you are close to competing for a championship, why choose to do almost nothing in FA or trades to “go for it”? It is insane.
Yep, it's baffling, because Jerry was at a natural junction, but didn't show clarity of thought/purpose to go in either direction (both of which would of at least been justifiable). This is a big part of what makes zero sense about this front office’s approach in 2024, and appears in early returns in 2025 in the form of a few questions:
