What about LBs

As a defensive end/outside linebacker, Ezeiruaku's best football comes when rushing the passer thanks to his athleticism, agility, and pass rush repertoire. Conversely, it's his size and strength that caused some concerns during the draft process. He will need to develop before he's considered a three-down EDGE as he isn't perceived as a great run defender. Early on, I'd project him as rotational passing down player thanks to his production as a pass rusher.

This brings us to the following question: Could the Cowboys consider using him off-ball in early downs to capitalize on his change of direction and athleticism? While Archer noted Ezeiruaku's "main call to action will be rushing the passer," the staff is clearly looking into every possibility.

Speaking of LB’s it would seem given Eberflus starting out as a LB coach wouldn’t it make sense to play Parsons away from line in an Overshown mode where it’s more free roaming then rushing the passer down after down getting worn out by 300 plus Lb linemen .
We talk about our best 5 Olineman on the field at the same time. Why not do the same with our pass rush on obvious passing downs? With someone coming up the middle to collapse the pocket.

LB is a funny position in Dallas. Like S many years ago the FO seems to not care. Never mind the fact that the SF LBs destroyed the Cowboys in the playoffs. Jerry’s little bots have told him the position isn’t important. I think they are ok there right now. No star but the group is decent. Clark has been a big disappointment but I expect him to be at his best in his walk year. The FAs are decent. ML was getting better every week last year. I think the group will be fine but not spectacular.

DT now…JAG city. The hope is a 7th rounder from UCLA. Jerry’s psyop team is selling that hard.

Sure on certain downs I agree . Parsons is what 240 , why send him down after down against 320 lb OL . Let him scan the field like Overshown a heat seeking missle .

I would gladly still take him into camp.
Me too. He’s a smart player who still has some tread on the tires. I like our LB’s who are very athletic guys. But instinct is the most important trait for a LB and only time will tell if they have that

To me it kinda boils down to whether ya think Sanborn and Murray are good starter quality or ya dont.

And that Liufau hopefully takes a nice 2nd year leap.

Overshown ain't til later in the season.
James is a project.
Clark spells some snaps as depth most likely.

That's bout it.

We have Damone Clark and Liafau.

LB is a very mental position. It's more of knowing where to go rather than being able to get there fast.

DE is mental to an extent (look at DLaw diagnosing entire run play designs from a 3 point stance), but on the whole, it's a much simpler task. Get around the guy lined up across from you. And a lot of times, that just comes down to being a better athlete than him. I'd say that pure athleticism wins more at DE than any other position.

EZ has taken zero mental reps at linebacker - he was too busy making All-American at DE - so he wouldn't be able to plug and play at LB at all.

Those instincts are established while youths and take adult time maturations for size and athletic advantage. Base levels for reactions don't just arrive suddenly.

Even a trash can full of dirt has to learn wrestling levels of center of gravity and how to strengthfully set immobility. Keys and team tendencies are then taught and their applications worked into interactive responded skills.

Center of gravity elements are highly sought due to center of gravity dominance and centering up abilities.

Agree, Good DT play would help this group, but nobody really has me buying their Jersey(so to speak)

I had hoped for Kendrick to come back. He played pretty solid last year
Kendricks was pretty good way better than expectations ,

but what you're missing here is he was brought in by Mike Zimmer because why he knew how to be the green dot wearing Mike Linebacker to help installing the new defense.

Now we have Matt Eberflus who does what he didn't bring him back because he brought Sanborn and Murray, but Sanborn is the guy that will be like Kendricks this year I have confidence he's going to play very well he's young and talented and he knows Matt's defense...

So like Kendricks he'll be able to help the guys out figure out what they're supposed to be doing early on.. That's why I have no real issues or am going to worry about the linebacker core I like this group of linebackers and when overshone gets back it's going to even be better I think it's going to end up being a strength that people don't even realize it...

And there's a good reason they trade it up to get James and for what I hear there's decent reports coming out that Clark could end up seeing a resurrection of his career at least as a viable backup or rotational guy...

That's what happens when you bring in a defensive coordinator that prides himself and be as being a linebacker whisperer he could probably fix some of these guys that may be underperforming...

:muttley::lmao:I don't know many defensive tackles in a history of the NFL that too many fans unless you know the person or maybe he went to your college or he was super dominant that people bought that jersey... It is not one of the jersey sales that you see around the NFL it's usually skill players but I would pick an offensive lineman over a defensive lineman most of the time if you're talking about jerseys but again I always revert back to skill position areas where stat sheets are being filled up those are usually the jerseys that sell the most..

I'm sure maybe a guy like Aaron Donald his jersey probably sold pretty good but he also filled up stat sheets from the in the sigh which doesn't typically happen very often so I don't care how good our defensive tackles are unless they're Aaron Donald I don't think we would have been buying their jerseys anyway.

I can see jerseys being sold from our linebackers we got Overshown when he gets back i'm sure there are already a lot of those although people probably pretty frustrated he went back to zero, Liafu is up and coming..

EZ -E could be An early rookie favorite if he starts showing out his jersey can start maybe Becoming a little more popular but I already have Parsons Jersey so I don't think I'll be buying any jerseys any time soon......
