Asking because i rarely watch the Raiders and i have no clue how he's been doing the past years. I just read that he's leaving Oakland and will be a free agent. Any insight on whether or not he'd be an option for us?

Hes 30 so I doubt they go after him

But after bouncing all around in his career Im pretty sure he settled in nicely at guard. And probably could backup some tackle spots

No, he hasn't settled in nicely at guard. He has done alright, but that is about it. There are better guard options including the ones Dallas already has. Gallery would be a terrible back up at tackle.

Well according to this he has been their best run blocker by far the past 2 years. And that is saying something since Oakland was the 2nd best running team last year, and top 10 in 2008.

Free agent LG Robert Gallery has decided against returning to Oakland after a recent talk with owner Al Davis.

"We've come to a mutual agreement that it's time for me to move on with my career," Gallery explained. The Raiders have been aggressive in re-signing key defenders, but Davis apparently balked at Gallery's asking price. Though he was easily the Raiders' best run-blocker the past two years, Gallery missed 14 of 32 games in 2009-2010. Oakland is expected to turn to second-year developmental project Bruce Campbell, which is quite a leap of faith.

Gallery never lived up to his draft status.

I heard hes found his own at guard; but at right tackle, I'd take Rob Pettiti over him any day

Actually at RT he would be better than Pettiti but not as good as Colombo was at his best.

Did he ever play RT? I remember his struggles at LT and his successful move to OG, just don't remember any RT action.

I don't that you would call what he did playing, but he has lined up at both tackle spots. He will be 31 in June. He missed 4 games last year and 10 games the year before.

Was just reading an article about him that talked about his struggles until Oakland changed to a zone blocking scheme. The Raiders are expected to use a power blocking scheme this year, so there was no urgency to bring him back.

Based on that, I don't think he'd be a good fit here.

Dude wanted 8 mil per year and the Raiders were only willing to go to 2.5. That is a lot of cash for an oft-injured guard to ask for.

Amen! He was the 2nd overall pick in the draft and was a complete bust his first 3-4 years there. I wouldn't touch him w/ a 10 ft pole...

Drafted 2nd overall years ago to play tackle and grades roads in the running lanes.

Ohhh, we got one of those already in Leonard Davis.

Bigg needs to go and Gallery needs to stay away.

Cause it only lasts 2 years and the come down hurts so much more once you realized what you paid.
