What about Trystan Hill?

As bad as we looked last night Hill has a good chance to make this team. He looked okay which is better than I can say for most of the other players we put out there.

But honestly.................you take out Mgovern and Ball and insert Martin and Tyron and the dynamics of the Oline completely change. Then put in Dak, Lamb, Shultz and things get even better. Then Pollard and Zeke.

This offense will be just fine as long as the entire starting Oline stays healthy. The defense is looking great. Healthy will determine the season as we are thin in too many places.

I agree with you that Hill looked okay. I guess it’s just sad that a second round pick from 3 years ago is at best “okay”. He has made a few plays here and there. But his ceiling at this point appears to be as a rotational spot player without much impact or upside. Just disappointed in that from a second rounder.

Hill was another Marinelli mistake.

You might find yourself pleasantly surprised with him this coming season.
Think this kid might make it after all.....

I sure hope so. I’ve been holding out on calling him a bust……more wishful thinking on my part than anything else, I guess

Hill will get 6 sacks and then sign a nice contract with someone else,

Tryst occasionally has the ability to shed, get off block and get pass rush penetration,..i did not see anything as encouraging from Chauncey Golston
in this Denv.

He may be a better rotational and nickel pass rush specialist than Golston.

Funny how if you're not a Pro Bowl player at your position you suck. If someone is that good, they just leave in FA then you have to back fill. Reality is, you need servicable players at some positions that are dependable and give their all, don't get hurt, but aren't going to crush your cap.

Next two preseason games will determine this vattos fate....not sure at this point he can be....just ok.
May be time to expel him from the gravy train
There’s other options

He was way overdrafted.

I expect a solid season from him
His career in the NFL depends on it and it’s a contract year. It’s amazing how a player can improve his play for a contract season lol

Trysten Hill is not a bust. He looked pretty good after he came back from injury last season. His biggest issue has been not staying healthy.

Hill has played in 18 games during his three years as a Cowboys. he has started 5. The only year he was healthy at the beginning of a season was 2020 and they didn't have a training camp due to the quarantine.

He does have a motor and if he can just stay healthy then the Cowboys have a triumvirate at the DT position with three fine young players, Osa in his 2nd season, Gallimore in his 3rd and Hill in his 4th. Hill is a 2nd round pick while the other two are 3rd rounders.

It could very well be Hill that has the breakout season. However, i choose to be greedy and imagine all three of them clogging up the middle on a rotational basis along with Bohanna and Ridgeway.
