What am I missing on Jordan Willis?

Willis isn't as heavy, but he seems to have some other similarities (strengths and weaknesses) to two DE's the Cowboy's liked last year, Ogbah and Tapper. I could see the Cowboys liking Willis more than most teams, even possibly as a late 1st/early 2nd round pick.

My main question with him, is why did he play LDE?

one thing i will say though and that is this guy is our scouts dream prospect ,he ticks every box they are looking for in atheticcism. If i was to guess both Willis and Watt are in play at 28.

Then you have no idea what you are looking at, but still try to come off as a pompous know-it-all.

Willis admits readily, he rushes to a spot. .

Scouting reports back it up:

Weaknesses
Straight-liner mover. Very deliberate as a pass rusher. Shows rush moves early and rarely deviates from original track. One-speed rusher lacking dynamic qualities to turn corner for tight loops. Could get flattened in the rush arc due to hip tightness. Timing of hands need work as he tends to shoot prematurely, opening himself up to counter moves. Rarely makes tackles redirect inside with sharp counters. Tackles often come at angles. Might need to move to outside linebacker on next level.

A top three cone time makes it feel like he should have some of the best bend in this class. But it doesn’t always come through. Too often, he gets run up past the junction point, the point where the DE needs to turn to the QB without drifting beyond the top of the launch spot.

I guess these people need to take lessons from you so they know what they are talking about. Golly they are ignorant.

Calling people pompous only highlights your own arrogance. I also like how you only respond when you think you are right. There is class and then there is boozeman. Nice post regurgitating takes though.

You really should think more before you post. Note the word "could" in the report denoting speculation of stiffness. Then note the rest where he talks of timing, handwork and lack of counter moves. Thing is that Harris, Lawson, and to a lesser extent Charlton have similar issues but they do not get the same diatribe.

Only in one of those pics is he playing with poor pad level. In the rest he is playing with lean, turning the corner, and has beaten the OT with a clear path to the QB.

Should he sharpen his rush? Obviously and he needs to do a better job rushing through contact but that is a different discussion than he is too stiff to turn the corner.

As for that last tweet you didn't look at his shuttle score did you? Protip: that is the short area quickness drill. He ran a 4.28 at 255 lbs.
