Good question.I think at this point it is safe to say that we have a major need. Not only can Ball and the other guy not be depended on, but Steele needs quality competition.
Waiver claims seem to be what they are hoping for at this point. Probably the same with WR too. They can't go into the season with a starting trio at WR of Lamb, Tolbert and Brown. That's sub-optimal.
Agreed. Most likely if the Cowboys do pick up a waiver or FA you're still getting a project player. The thought that their are starting caliber WRs or OTs just sitting in free agency right now waiting on a phone call isnt true for the most part. There are a few guys way past their prime who could probably give you some snaps or at least show flashes, and Beasley who is the one who probably could step right in, but that bring has been burnt it seems. There may be more recognizable names out there it doesnt mean they are any better than the group we have now.YOu keep saying that, but some of us disagree. If you think they are brining in some off the street FA WR at this point to start you are kidding yourself. Both Washington and Gallup coming back after the first 3 or 4 weeks.
Lamb, Tolbert, Fohenko, Shultz will be just fine the first few weeks.
Unless one thinks Nsehke or however it is spelled can be of value.

My question especially for the receivers is who do you cut? Lamb, Gallup, Washington, Tolbert, Fehoko, Brown, Vasher, Houston, Vasher. I know Gallup/Washington are out, but both should be back. You would only expect the team to keep 5 maybe 6 from that group. I have no issues with the Cowboys rolling with the young guns a few weeks.

Sure they can, on both, the plan from the beginning was to go into the season in heavy 12 personnel to cover both positions. That won’t change unless one of the TEs go down (Shultz or Ferguson)!Waiver claims seem to be what they are hoping for at this point. Probably the same with WR too. Smith and Alcaron both played well. But they do need a veteran or 2 for depth.I think at this point it is safe to say that we have a major need. Not only can Ball and the other guy not be depended on, but Steele needs quality competition.
Waiting for a WR would be a mistake IMO. You may be able to get away with it at OT since whoever you sign will be a reserve. But picking up a guy at WR right before the season, and expecting him to play without the chance to establish rhythm with the QB would be a huge mistake.Waiver claims seem to be what they are hoping for at this point. Smith is going to start at LG though. He probably wont factor in at OT at allSmith and Alcaron both played well. But they do need a veteran or 2 for depth.
That’s why they need to get some depth at swing tackle.Smith is going to start at LG though. He probably wont factor in at OT at all
