What are the biggest needs for the Cowboys in 2018?

The defense was not the problem by the end of the season. The Cowboys had the worst WR group in the NFL. Even Cleveland was better.

The defense faced some real dog offenses at the end of the year in Oakland and a Nick Foles led Eagles team playing their backups.

WR is a place that can be upgraded. But it's not far and away our biggest need.

Well if any of you are not saying TE right after WR, then apparently you think our basketball player is gonna be the guy

Yeah it needs an upgrade. Because Dez is so bad and TWill can't catch and Witten can't run (he can't out run your Grandma) it is killing us. You get one guy with speed who can actually command a legit double team at receiver and this offense looks totally different. The need is right up there with linebacker and 1 Tech.

One might argue it is the biggest need on this team if Tyron is healthy and Jaylon returns to Notre Dame form.

What are the biggest needs for the Cowboys? Can they be solved in the upcoming draft?

According to Dane Brugler, Senior NFL draft analyst at www.nfldraftscout.com:

"Dallas needs to show more love to the offense in this class, specifically left guard, wide receiver and tight end. However, at pick No. 19, the strategy should ALWAYS be best player available."

I agree, but it depends on the possibility of securing a stud DT via free agency.

a true number one receiver, a dynamic tight end, a monster defensive tackle, a play making safety, a linebacker, a offensive guard and a swing offensive tackle.....

Linebacker- don’t want the cowboys season, held ransom by the health of Sean Lee anymore.

Safety- move Byron jones to corner.

Receiver- a SPEED receiver to stretch the defense and back the safeties off.

Swing OT- obvious need.

OG- depth and I don’t trust cooper long term.

1 tech- I don’t care what Marinelli says. An athletic fat boy in the middle of a defense, makes a huge difference. No matter what system you run.

My own wish list has an offensive tackle that can play on the left side prett high. In fact, if a viable candidate was there at #19, I would pull the trigger.

Tyron Smith's health is highly questionable and this current roster has zero viable alternatives behind him.

The last thing I want to see is an entire offense derailed because there's no decent candidate to protect the quarterback.

QB
WR
LB
TE

No, you're not going to solve that in one draft and, honestly, the team won't even begin to this year. They still don't know. We have to waste more years before they do.

The Cowboys don't need to fix everything to be a lot better, but they still need to fix a lot.

Headline positions are WR, LB, TE, but their depth in general on both sides of the ball is trash.

What we think and what they might do is much different. What they know and we don’t know is the problem. Is T smith’s back a problem going forward? Who do we plan to cut or not sign?
If smith is an issue then tackle is a huge need. If we aren’t signing kitchens then depth at LB gets to be an issue. Is dez getting close to the end of his time here? I don’t think they plan to cut him this year but what about next?
Knowing those answers would make figuring out what we will do or should do much easier
As of right now
Swing tackle
WR
lB
NT
Safety
Depth almost anywhere
As usual the needs exceed the quality picks we have but we have several mid rnd picks that will make or break this draft

What are the biggest needs for the Cowboys? Can they be solved in the upcoming draft?
In no particular order: a safety, linebacker, swing tackle, Deep threat WR, and a DT. Might be time to start thinking about TE although I know many on this board think Gaithers fills that need. Biggest need is Head Coach

We damn well better draft the BPA each and every round. No more half assed projects and no more dope heads. We have major holes everywhere.

We need consistent postseason wins...

1-Tech
LB
S
WR
OT/G

Either BPA in any order or some quality FA’s...

A playbook that allows us to attack the middle of the field and not just pass outside the hashes.

HC
QB
Safety
1-Tech
LB (factoring in health - even if JS does respond)
WR - speed (with quickness too).
OG
