The staff and FO already knows what they've got in McFadden and Dunbar. Impetus for making whatever their decisions might be as it pertains to our RB corps should likely come after evaluating the performance of Darius Jackson in TC. Someone will surely have to go -- it's just a question of who and exactly when it will happen. Of course, the extent of Dunbar's recovery begs an answer as well.

I backed McFadden since he was signed, and still do. I don't buy into this changed blocking scheme crap. I just don't get the hate he receives. This OL used both blocking schemes last year, depending on the situations. They have said they liked blocking for DMC, as he knows what to do. And no coach or player has came out and said they changed the scheme because he couldn't run in it.
That BS came from an article written by a blogger type article. This wasn't even on ESPN or NFLN that I know of.
A RB can run or he can't, and obviously DMC can run, or he still would not be in the NFL.

Now to Darius Jackson. I am pulling for him, as I do with any and all players on the roster. But he was a 6th round draft pick, but yet he is already put upon a pedestal by many. and I think because of their dislike for DMC, that is the only reason. If Dallas did not draft him, do you truly think any other team would have taken him around that time, or even at all. I know some will say yes, because they already anointed him in the words of the tuna.

McFadden will not be traded, unless injuries happen or an offer is just really to good to pass up. But I still don't see it. We can have a 3 headed monster in the running game. And it can be lethal.
Why upset that with throwing in an unproven late round rookie, who needs to learn pass protection above anything else.

Best scenario, he shows enough to keep 4 RB's.

Zeke, McFadden, Morris is a 3 headed monster that has the potential of being feared by defenses.

He will end up like pretty much every player rumored that we are trying to trade, on the roster until they fade away. For whatever reason, we are not a team that finds a way to trade players.

Saturday night we wil know more about Jackson and his impact on DMC's status. It seems the staff/Jerry like to stay with the safe player or what they know. I hope they don't miscalculate and lose Jackson if he continues to look promising.

We will see. Injuries may play a big factor. I think when you invest a high pick in a running back it is really hard to keep two veteran running backs around on the roster who provide no or limited value on special teams. Even if you keep both, can you keep both active on a game day roster? If you think there are 8-12 carries for a backup running back, do you need to split those with 2 guys?

For Jackson to make the team he will need to show he has the potential to carry the ball effectively but he also needs to play good special teams. He is not only competing with McFadden and maybe Dunbar but possibly also Rod Smith. If he doesn't stand out with running the ball, Smith has the ability to play some fullback and might be able to fill in at running back if Dallas has an injury.

I think they need to think about shopping Street as well. Not that they could get much but I cant see them keeping him for his final year over Jones, who is much better and will be around for at least 4 more years.

0%, teams know that they can get him for free after he's cut.

That, or another team may trade someone who wouldn't survive last cuts for McFadden, that we are interested in.

If Morris wins the #2, which he should, then it comes down to how many backs we can afford to carry(due to other positional needs) and who can play ST's.

McFadden could survive at #3 and we could have Smith be our FB in a pinch/ST guy.

can't shop someone who's done nothing.

cut n go. someone else will have to simply pick up on the 3 lost catches he brings a year.

I expected DMAC to be moved with Zeke and Morris being nice compliments to one another. However, his cell phone injury will most likely diminsh any value we would have gotten in return. I know most people are thoroughly unimpressed with Dmac and the Oline has received the majority of the credit for his success last season but I still expected some running back needy team to inquire about him before the injury.

At first I thought you were talking about DMAC, sorry I replied and deleted. I agree, I cant find a logical reason anyone would give is a bag of chips for Street at this point.

This ^ If we have to part ways with Dunbar also in order to keep Jackson id be ok with it.
I dont particularly like it and Dunbar is a great weapon in the passing game but there are only limited opportunities for him with Zeke and Morris on the field. Also, the poor kid cant stay healthy.

heh - all good. mcfadden, while i do think has value - would be limited and not likely good trade bait. most know he's not likely to make the final roster at this point or that there's a good chance he won't, so wait it out.

Not much trade value. Teams looking for retread RBs have a reasonable list to pick from. He'll just get added to that list. It's possible though.
