What Are The Cowboys Missing On Offense?

A defense that can get a third down stop, a QB sack or a turn over.

An offense that can beat the blitz. Till we learn that, we are going to get blitz the hell. I remember back to the days of Parcells, coaches saying teams will rue blitzing us. They haven't yet to date. Dunbar should be deadly. But hes unused mostly.

There's nothing wrong with the offense. The Cowboys offense is built where its consistent. Its never going to put up 50 points in a game and it will never blow any team away but it should consistently put up in the 24-30+ range.

There's nothing they need. I guess if there's something you can say they need its a young backup quarterback. Cowboys are deep at receiver, tight end and running and offensive line. They are stacked.

Whats lacking with this offense? I would say creativity. Its too simple and its still Garrett's playbook - which I'm not a big fan of.

I want to see pick plays which just about every offense runs against us with success. I want us to put Bryant into the slot and make him nothing more than a hot receiver which his job is to find an opening. I want to see bunch plays which will make it harder to double team Dez. I'm sick of Garrett's philosophy on beating you up front. I want a little bit more creativity with plays.

I would love a flea flicker on 1st down. In fact I don't know why we don't even try it. I bet it will score a TD.

Last of all, would like them to use Romo's mobility. I want us using play action and draw plays which are the main staple of this offense. But I would like to see some bootlegs. The reason why Romo is hurt because they focus on getting to where he's going to pass the ball. Move him around he will be harder to sack.

williams isnt good enough for you?
how many teams would williams be the second starting receiver on?

Not many.....

if you want to take this offense to the next level you gotta find a difference maker.

This WR unit as a whole has been a real disappointmnent IMO.

Dez is a true #1 given....

Williams makes a better #3

Beasley could be upgraded for someone that has burner speed.

Street hasn't done anything. Jerry talking this guy up has been nothing but wishful thinking.

Harris hasn't done squat on special teams as a returner.....doesn't scare anyone except for the coaching staff that he's gonna fumble when he's returning punts.

Like I said.... this unit as a whole is more smoke than fire:cool:

Williams has proven he can make difficult plays when given the ball. Romo most times looks for Dez, Witten and usually locks onto those guys before deciding to look William's way. He is a very good #2. Maybe his route running still needs work, other than that. But it's not like Dez is great at that either.

QB depth? Otherwise, we're pretty set offensively. Our weaknesses are still mostly defensive.

I like all this. Especially the pick plays and roll outs. I can't remember the last time I saw Tony roll out.

sorry for a second year player his pretty damn good. TWilliams numbers might not be large
but his %pc is good and yac is real good. This team is so loaded at skill positions
There are a few others looking for balls. I think about Beasley,Escobar possibly Harris,Murray?
Sometimes being over critical isn't making the point.

The wide receiver unit hasnt been that good because Dez Bryant hasnt been that good. Sad to say but it is the truth.

I agree with off of it, except for the roll outs. Everytime we run them it is either a minimal play, or a near disaster. Of course maybe that's just because the only option on those plays seems to be a Witten 2 yard drag to the sideline or a 7 yard comeback by the outside WR.

A system that doesnt rely on Talent like our offensive system does..make it easier for the players.

I have thought about in the past but lets say we would try the west coast for example. Get the ball out quickly a lot of three step drops. Receivers continue the same routes through entire play compared where I guys have to come back to the ball. However, I think Romo is a QB that is better when he goes through his progressions when reading the field and is terrific when the play breaks down

Yeah. Maybe you're right. They seem to work great for otheir teams.
I think everyone can agree on the Witten two yard plays. I think there was one last week.
