Again, how many draftees were actually going to make this squad? Why put out second round money for a guy that you don't need? Better off taking a lot of late round guys and filter through them and hope you have some steals. If they don't stick, you don't have much invested.

I doubt that. Eventually we'll make a good value pick. In that 2nd round spot there wasn't a good value pick out of the bunch. There are a lot of guys with 2nd round value that are falling to the 3rd round. We can get a guy like Josh Beekman that would probably be a good choice at 53, but we get him in the 3rd round.

I see a couple of guys with the same value as Beekman still on the board that probably drop to the 4th, the only guy I see way ahead of the rest of the field might be T. Edwards, his still being there makes me nervous

That's a good point. Edwards would be a great pick IMO. He would make this a really good draft because you have a guy some scouts think could be a star in this league some day. I didn't think about him when I first posted. But I was just saying we could get a guy for better 3rd round value then draft him in the 2nd round. And we add a couple of other picks to the draft.

This hasn't been a great draft, but it's been a very economical and smart draft so far.
