Just say no to Stove top Stuffing. Home made is much, much better.
Easy to make... Corn Bread, diced celery, onions, boiled eggs, and lots of chicken broth,,, oh and the secret ingredient that sets it off,,, lots of sage,,, mix it all up and throw it in the oven. I guarantee you will never buy stove top again.

are you preparing anything in advance for tomorrow?

my wife has already made the deviled eggs and green bean casserole.

we got one of those spiral sliced pit smoked hams from H.E.B.

went ahead and peeled it so all you have to do is heat whatever you want individually tomorrow.

good to get that out of the way tonight.

in the morning:

will put the smoked turkey breast in the oven.

make homemade mashed potatoes

make turkey stove top dressing

bake the rolls

cranberry sauce

pecan and pumpkin pie

then watch the cowboys exact some revenge against the seahawks while drinking mass quantities of michelob ultra.

then...if i'm still awake..

i'll gladly watch the cardinals seal the eagles fate.

Great stuff lane! Heard you on dcfanatic's show. You were lit dude. But hey, so was I when I finally decided to check out Cowboyszone.com.

My wife also hooked us up with deviled eggs.

We're going to be rockin a 19 lb stuffed turkey. (her mom, my mother-in-law will be over early tomorrow morning to help with that)

Wife peeled the potatoes and set in fridge for mashing tomorrow.

Gonna have green bean casserole. That's a must.

Gonna have sweet potato pie with melted marshmellows.

Gonna have roasted Seahawk around 4:00 pm EST as well.

I heard you say H.E.B. You live in good ol' Texas, right? Man I miss that place. Was born and raised in Abilene.

Hey Sarge, I havent had sweet potatoe pie since I was a kid growing up in East Texas. My aunt used to make it a t thanksgiving, and it was oh so tasty.
Wish I had a good recipe.

This is really weird. I started writing a song this morning about my daughter who I won't get to see this Thanksgiving.

The name of the song? "What you're doing right now".

I get on here to take a break from writing and see the title of this thread is the exact same as the title of the song I started writing an hour ago. If that's not a sign of some sort then I don't know what is. I better get back to work.

Incidently, my Daughters name is Dallas. All you parents out there who get to see their children today should be extra thankful.
