What are your expectations now?

If we have home field through the NFC playoffs then I expect a super bowl appearance, all teams are flawed, ours is our pass defence, hopefully, our offence at home is good enough to carry us.

At this point I would expect the Cowboys to win the NFCE and get HFA. They only need to win 2 out of their last 4 games to get that done. And that's with no help.

Beyond that? I just don't know. And truthfully, I don't think anyone does. Who saw 11 wins in a row coming after the loss to the Giants in week 1?

Is the rookie wall a real thing?

If it is not a real thing, at least in this case, then the sky is the limit.

NFCG. we should face a very flawed team like the giants or vikings in the second round. A tough seattle team in the third. If we get past them the season has already been magical and sets the stage for a dynasty.

Not according to Seahawk fans, they can't wait to crush us. They are very confident that they can beat us.

They should be confident.. They've been there and done that.

The reality is that it's a 50/50 game at worst for us.

All of these playoff games will be 50/50 game at worst for us.

Expecting a Super Bowl appearance with a rookie QB is unrealistic.

My expectations are playing in the NFC Championship with the opportunity to play in the SB.

My expectations are what they always are:

- The team that is prepared to play.

- Team that plays with high energy.

- Team that limits mental errors and tackles well.

- For the coaches to be able to adjust as the game goes along.

- The team that plays to win instead of playing not to lose.

If you do all of those things you're pretty much doing all you can do to win (and you will likely win).

I think it is safe to say that nobody on this board or even on this planet ever seriously predicted Dallas would be 11-1 right now. In fact, if you look at the preseason prediction thread a lot of posters either didn't have us making the playoffs at all or if we did it was like a 9 to 10 win season max.

So with that being said, what is your expectations now and what will you consider a successful season? Is it SuperBowl or bust, making it to the NFC Championship Game even if we lose, or will just winning a single playoff game be considered a positive outcome to this season?

Personally, I think the team has to atleast make it to the NFC Championship Game. If a team starts the season 11-1 and doesn't even make it to the NFCCG, that is called a choke job. If we lose a hard fought NFC title game to Seattle, I will be disappointed of course, but I think we all would have signed up for that at the beginning of the season.

Making it to the SuperBowl would be a dream, even if we lost to the Patriots. Winning the SuperBowl would be beyond words, my heart probably couldn't take it but at least I would go out with a smile on my face:D
I want it all.

I believe this team has been fortunate in many ways. The drafting of Zeke and Dak was perhaps one of the most fortunate of events this team has enjoyed. (I have to add the only rival would be the events in 1988/89 when Dallas drafted Irvin in 88 and had the rights to what amounted to Troy Aikman, and Bum Bright selling the team to Jerry which brought Jimmy to the Cowboys) Football-wise this has been a blessing.

My expectations are as follows.

This team will lose the NFCCG.

Because of their seeding due to the number of wins, they will play one game before the NFCCG. They will beat that opponent.

But eventually the defense will yield more than the offense can score and this season will end in a bittersweet way. What a ride, but no cigar.

++++ I'd like to add I believe Jerry will parley a stud DE in free agency, draft a LB, S, (2) CB, WR and OL, and the face of the defense will change dramatically.

My feeling is with health Dallas wins it all next year and several times beyond.

Expecting a Super Bowl appearance with a rookie QB is unrealistic.

I know, I'm just trying to be optimistic...after 20 years this team feels like it could be close to getting back to a super bowl...

If we don't beat ourselves with turnovers and penalties, then I expect a SB win, because we are the best, most consistent team in the league, we are built for cold weather and we are built to win on the road and in gritty battles.

I won't be disappointed if we don't win the SB, because its been an amazing season, but I do think we are the SB favorites right now.
If they take care of business the next couple weeks, they won't need to worry about cold weather.

I expect HFA but that's about it. A rookie QB will find it hard going in the playoffs. I think we are better than any team we will face in the Divisional round but we were better than the Gnats in 07 and that didn't matter. NFC Conference game would be awesome though. Never know once the game starts.

My expectations is that we'll win some grueling battles the next several weeks and beat the Raiders in the superbowl.
