He is a 6th round draft choice who enamored people with his physical attributes; while bigger, more mobile with a more powerful arm than Dak; however, he shares Dak’s same weaknesses: inaccuracy and reading defenses. This team doesn’t need a bigger, faster version of Dak.
Seems like a practice squad candidate

Same, in Dallas the bar is low, all he has to do is beat the scrub teams and Jerry has found his guy for the next 8 years. :flagwave:

all cynicism and sarcasm aside, he's a good player to take a flyer on so maybe Jerry will strike oil again, fingers crossed.
i agree.
i liked him at tennessee.
no knock on dak...they need to prepare now for life w/out him.
maybe its milton...maybe not.
but dak is getting older and the injuries are becoming more often.
start developing now...not when you have to.
i've got 0 problem taking a flyer on milton.

I tell you you know it's public right that we see the three people that say he's starting in 2025 is insane those dudes need to be deleted their accounts need to be suspended for at least I don't know 90 days just from the sheer ridiculousness of it.. There's a worst case scenario Prescott gets his legs snapped off in preseason I guarantee this kids not starting I guarantee they're gonna go get a guy like Tannehill or someone's leftover out there and we will have a veteran here he's not starting by design at any point and even in an emergency it might be one game until again they get a veteran in here will grier and Milton will not be long relief type guys so get over it he might grow into a role and be a good #2 and spot starting type but you guys picking the first option is just i don't know is it parody..

..

Jammies Russell and Ryan Leaf had cannons.
First of all neither one of them are good comps we're talking about comparable players skill set build size like Cam Newton he looks like Cam Newton but you want some failed Cam Newton's possibilities like tyrod Taylor and Joshua Dobbs but yes more recently if you want a failure, you know bigger athletic quarterbacks like possibly Malik Willis and Anthony Richardson..

I believe whether is because of injury or just bad play, he will be the starter by week 9.

And have a fresh start next season as our New King
first of all, Prescott's not getting pulled because of bad play because if he's playing bad that means the offensive line the run game and the defense are playing bad, yup just like last year... If Prescott's healthy, he's not being pulled, you show me a scenario where Prescott or Romo were pulled that early in a season if they're still upright ?

And I'll also tell you, you might be off base because by week 9 are we in it or out of it there is no way the Cowboys would start this guy if we still had a shot at the playoffs, unless they had a really good feeling about him from training camp and preseason games, they would literally go get a veteran..

there might be a veteran added before game one and all this is going to be blown up anyway you know a backup veteran they usually wait till after the draft and when they're heading into practices and camps and they'll add an actual veteran backup, will they get the job, I don't know ,but it'll be more seasoned back up than what we have on the team right now I could expect that scenario to happen too..

Don't get me wrong I like this move getting Milton on this team, but your expectations are completely off base you're counting on a lot of factors, and you don't even know the actual scenarios that could be there around week 9....

I don't think they traded for him to be the 3rd QB. But they did that with Lance and at a higher price tag so who knows. Just seemed silly then and it does now. But his contract will be up about the same time as Dak's is, right? So that will be the chance to become the starter if he progresses. Who knows, stranger things have happened.

My immediate expectations are 3rd string QB, until he proves capable of being a backup #2 QB. Joe's talent level seems good for an inexperienced QB at this point. I'm hopeful for his progress.

The same as I'd expect from any QB drafted in the 5th or later who lacks field vision and accuracy - Third string most of their career, however long it lasts.
