What Are Your Favorite Ethnic Foods

I was wondering if any of you have every tried Navajo Fry Bread?

I have......

Although, the guy that sold it to me didn't look like he was a true Navajo. Even with the Mohawk, I was still a bit suspicious!

Going to be honest, I have never seen it look like that. Not saying I am a perfect source though. Any time I have seen it or eaten it, the fry bread has been more like a scone or pita and is roughly a little bigger than corn tortillas.

Probably many variations though. Did you like it?

Now that looks familiar. I've had it with beans and rice as well as mutton stew and I really like it.

I've seen the Navajos eat it with everything from Tabasco sauce to honey. It goes with just about everything.

Texas State Fair right around the corner. Time for fried Twinkies, fried Oreos, and anything else they can fit in a fryer.

I can't speak for everyone, but living in Texas there just hasn't ever been a huge Polish community to introduce these foods. The closest I've had is the kolache store in West, TX on the way to Austin.

Kolaches are strictly Czechoslovakian. I grew up in the home of the national Czech-Slovak museum and they have a kolache festival every year.

But im suprised you've never seen or had one, funnel cakes are at fairs all the time up here in PA, i guess its a regional thing. Its like cotton candy at a carnival or beach boardwalk.

Yeah, he got me good. I've heard the name funnel cakes before, but I've never ordered one. I don't eat foods at the fairs. Bad food and spinning rides aren't a good combo.

Ethnicities of Europe, especially Eastern Europe, aren't reallly constrained by post war geography.

Yes it is dog...and I would not be shocked if I ate it without knowing it.

And you would have to pay me big bucks to eat Kimchi.

I don't care for it at all, but add the factor of being in a room full of people who ate kimchi on a regular basis on a hot day and the smell would overwhelm you.

Some of their brown t-shirts actually would get orange stains on them from their sweat...not lying.
