The pluses have been pretty well mentioned, the shedding of contracts and underperformed players.
The unfortunate balance of that is are they hoping they have people in house to cover those losses ?
Are they sold on Steele or Ball at Tackle, does the other become the swing ?
I'm hopeful both Fowler and Washington will be productive parts of their respective rotations. All else is bring back our own players - so status quo. I expect to see draft picks at both positions - but not necessarily high round picks.
My minuses - it's not enough.
All of it, it's not enough.
We are in an arms race that we are about to lose come draft time. While we were the better team in the worst devision last year, we are weaker now.
And our direct competition is about to get much much better ! ( well, maybe not Washington).
But the other two teams are about to blitz us come draft time, not only by the 5 first round picks combined. But the fact in each subsequent round, they are far better positioned to grab significantly better players than our 24th position.
We needed to be bettering our team now, in FA. And we haven't.
If we look out over the next 2-3 years with each teams rosters, I expect both the Giants and Eagles to catch and pass us. Maybe not this year- as all their (should be talented) draft picks must learn to play. But by year two of their big hauls, their rosters will be stronger than ours. By the end of this year's draft, I expect we will have filled 2 holes - which ever they may be, and not much else. We are treading water, they are about to get much better.
So much for Jerry's talk of doing anything to win ...
