What can be done to fix the team?

They've replaced coaches, coordinators, players and training staff many times over the years.

Jerry needs to retire or sell the team. Stephen needs to shift into owner mode and hire a real intelligent and no-nonsense GM.

They need to fire all of the scouts and draft/personnel staff and start over with a new mindset and philosophy.

They need to stop trying to remake the 1990s teams and they need to stop chasing the latest Super Bowl winning team trends.

After 30 years, it's time for an organizational reset, not just a coaching or player reset.

What you said makes 10000% sense from.a sports franchise perspective that is focused on winning.

The problem: we are not focused on winning. That is not the top priority. The goal the priority is maximize profits and value.

Has any franchise accomplished less and gone up in value and been as profitable as cowboys in past 30 years.

Why does it work then? Because sports franchises go on yearly cycle. And Jerry and company are good at generating hope. Hype.

Rockport, is an ultimate cowboys fan. Every off season he is all in. 100%. He buys the hype and he hopes. Thats what true fans do.

So Jerry runs a year to year operation. As he said staying relevant is more important than actually accomplishing anything.

And even when all else fails he has a back up plan. Bring a Parcells type. Which onto itself is another hype. Fade into background until adults turn things around and get in front of it again.

So. Yeah. We will have more of the same. I guarantee jerry will make a trade for a pass rusher. Thats him generating hope, hype and reacting to managing the situation.

Expect more of the same.

Nothing will change unless we suck real bad for few years in a row. Or jerry dies (that sounds morbid, but you know what i mean)

If I were Jerry, I'd keep doing what I'm doing. I'd keep trying to find 53 guys to carry dak, and if I failed, I'd just call it bad luck.

Like when the marine drill sergeant in “Full Metal Jacket” tells the barracks that he has tried to teach them already-then proceeds to make them exercise to pay for Private Pyle’s doughnut. He eats it and you pay me for it (as they all start doing pushups after a full day of training). And next comes the soap party and a bludgeoned Pyle. Some people just can’t seem to fully understand the metaphors in film.

It’s blanket party, not soap party and that’s part of Marine Corps boot camp. At least when I went through.
