What can Rob Ryan learn from the way the 49ers mauled Manning today.

Yes the Giants won, but the 49ers mauled Manning today. Hopefully Rob is paying attention.

Hopefully we upgrade our front 7. That's what I learned watching today/all season.

Tough to maul anyone if you can't get within 5 yards of him

The problem is the players on this roster, not the coaches.

I can't speak for Rob Ryan, but what I learned is that Jerry Jones is a fargin icehole!

The best thing Garrett/Ryan can do is an HONEST evaluation of their roster at this moment.

Then they have to convey that message to JJ/S Jones.

If S Jones thinks that our front 7 is good enough, Garrett needs to tell him no it isn't. We are missing the following pieces . . . . etc., etc.

The worst thing is to pretend you've got the players when you really don't.

That's my opinion anyway.

LOL this sounds like a certain owner and former coach stating a 'fact', when the "said team" they are saying 'facts' about, is going to the Super Bowl!

That blitzes are more effective when you guys in the secondary who can actually cover some one.

The Niners Defense was good enough to win the Sb...If it wasn't for Alex Smith and that horrible offense.

To answer question. There is nothing to be learned, Rob just needs better players. It's that simple.

I found your point of view to be spot on.

We tend ot have 2 types of posters on this website. those who think the secondary isn't as bad as it showed because the front 7 need an upgrade, and those who think the front 7 aren't as bad as they showed because the secondary needs retooling. I'm in the third camp minority; i think both the front 7 and secondary need retooling.

Nothing. Just pray. I don't think our defense will ever be that good. I can't remember seeing a dominant defense that played indoors...maybe the 2009 Vikings but that's it.

We need tough players with grit. They need to possess a few qualities, these are a must:

1. They love the game. A game check can't be the only reason why they have stuck with it.
2. They're rough and tough. They don't cry when things don't go their way and they don't avoid contact. (No Bidness decisions)
3. They need to be smart players. No more of these players who can barely grasp the English language and who can't do something as simple as understand the game they've been playing the majority of their life.
4. Team concept. They don't care if their number isn't always called. They don't care if they're asked to play out of position. They do what is best for the team.
5. They don't make excuses and they don't point fingers, they fix the problems.

Talent is important, but for how long have we been talking about how talented our team is yet we still have no results to show for it? Yeah, that's right. There needs to be a big culture change for this team and the kind of players we allow on it.

outside of Ware and Lee, who are our good players on D?

Its not coaching, its the players. IMO.

i hope this is an obvious point by now with the fanbase.

I hope it's an obvious point with the GM.

However, a new head coach every three years would seem to indicate that it's not.
